'Verdun' Crisscross Sandal (Women)

Really wanted to keep these. Love the yellow, the white sole, the comfort. But the fit was strange. I normally wear a 71/2 M but went down to a 7 as recommended. The length was perfect, the heel strap adjusted just right, the cross-toe strap fit- but the two criss-crossed arch straps (which are not adjustable) stood up above my foot by 1/4 -1/2 inch! Wish there was some way to adjust them. Probably these were designed for a foot with a high arch which I don't have. So back they went. Big disappointment- now I'll spend all spring looking for something similar that fits.

I have major feet problems and have had a hard time finding anything comfortable since I was a kid. I'm 45. I go to Europe alot and have been looking for about 2 years for shoes I could hopefully find to work on a long-term basis. I have bought so many pair of shoes and worn them around my house on the carpet and then sent them back. I also want something that looks stylish and it seems like stylish and comfortable never go together. However, these shoes are both. I love them and have them in white. However, there are a few things that have disappointed me about this shoe and also that I wish they would change: 1) the white straps are white on the top and the tan leather underneath and that tan leather color has bled through the white so now they look dingy and dirty and it's permanent and I haven't been able to get them looking clean. I've worn them maybe 7-8 times. 2) I wish they would make the entire upper of the shoe one piece because after about 30 minutes my feet feel like they have blisters or sores at the part where the tan leather upper meets the white leather upper. I don't understand any shoe that makes their shoes this way because that line of leather that isn't smooth is very uncomfortable and means pain. 3) Even though I've worn these 7-8 times some of those times were for all day on a trip. It seems like the shoe has lost it's original support and is not cushy anymore and now the arch support is actually hurting instead of helping, like it was when I first wore them. I may try to buy another style of shoes from this company because they are more comfortable than so many other shoes I've tried but I REALLY wish they would make the upper all one piece. Also, these run about a half of a size big. I wear 8.5 and had to send back and reorder an 8.

Exactly the style I was hoping for but unfortunate design flaw- the straps are all one piece and are not fully adjustable. Strap that fits over instep is same pice as strap that goes around heel, and even on the tightest setting these are too loose across the instep (opposite problem with the forefoot strap).

I haven't been able to wear these a long time since it's winter, however, I did wear them around the house. They are very cute and I LOVE the thick sole. I have very high arches and have a hard time finding attractive sandals with good arch support, but these sandals have fantastic arch support. I'm looking forward to wearing these sandals...if it ever stops raining in California that is!
