No Kidding, these are great jeans, but size down
Luckily I was able to try these in the store myself. My usual size 27 in this brand was way too big. I tried both the 26 and the 25, and the 26 was the best fit. Not too high in the waist and no gaping. The denim is so soft and lightweight - super comfortable. You can't go wrong with this brand, but you will need to size down for these.

Soft and lightweight
I'm petite at 5'2" and ordered size 24 (sometime I am size 25). It fit great in the hips, but it was about 2" too wide in the waist area, and alterations would make the back pockets look funny/too close together. The fabric is very light and stretchy making them great for wearing when it gets warm in TX. The leg width is very on-trend, but I found these to make my legs look like tree trunks. I have better luck when the fit is a little more tailored in the thigh before widening at the bottom.
