Great finishing powder

Everyone complaints about the price. I think the new formula is well worth this price. The new formula is extremely light, you cannot feel it at all. Just perfect amount of glow and your face looks alive after one application. Love it. I also use this powered with new La Mer foundation. The best foundation for oily skin !

Horrible Price Increase!

I have used La Mer for 15+ years, from all their different creams, serums, cleansers, liquid foundation and powder. So if I'm reviewing a product due to the price, that's saying something. I really liked the old powder and honestly, can't tell the different with the 'new' powder. They both feel/felt fairly lightweight and covered well for me. However, when I opened my 'new' powder this morning, I realized that they had drastically changed it. My old powder would last me nearly a year but this new size will maybe last me a few months? And it had cost me more?! The 'new' product is 0.28oz, the old one was 0.88oz. HOLY MOLY. That's not just a little change, that's just simply ridiculous - talk about price gouging. YIKES. As much as I adore La Mer and their products for my skin, I'm going to have to start looking elsewhere for powder.

Why fix what's not broken??

I simply do not understand why brands, of any kind, not just cosmetics, change an already-amazing formula. The original was a top rated best seller and a cult product with makeup artists. WHY do you change it? Just bored? Well, unfortunately it was a big mistake on your end. This is horrible. And it's a horrible value as well. Expensive glass packaging with a little bit of powder. Ugh. So frustrating! Do away with this and bring back the original. It's already expensive as it is. Don't fix what's not broken!

How did people not to get angry about it?? I could not believe the price and the amount product change on this new powder that I have been waiting for. PASS PASS and PASS. I highly recommend two loose powders 1. Chantacallie 2. By Terry

Very, Very Disappointed

Once upon a time this was my Holy Grail powder. I'm sad to say that relationship is done. First they discontinued all colors except for translucent. Fine, I made it work because I LOVED the finish. But now they completely did away with that too by changing the formula. Unacceptable. The fact that I am being sold a less than comparable replacement for WAY too high a price in a size that is 17 grams less than the original is offensive. They should consider changing the name because this is not the iconic product I have always used.

HORRID

BOUGHT & RETURNED. THIS IS SHAMEFUL LA MER (EL). You went and tried fixing something that was clearly NOT broken. The original formula was my HG under eye setting powder, the new one "NOW with the miracle broth" is dry and does not have the luminosity the original offered. FACTS: La Mer Translucent (Old): 25 grams. $65. That's $2.60 per gram. La Mer Translucent (New): 8 grams(-17 grams). $95. That's roughly $12 per gram. You are now paying 6 TIMES MORE for a crappier version of a once HOLY GRAIL powder. I resorted to purchasing the old version off eBay for $130 (to anyone thinking price was the catalyst behind writing this review)...I find myself very willing to buy the old discontinued formula for twice its original price. I'm writing this review to urge the existing cult following behind the OLD LA MER TRANSLUCENT 05 to write Estee Lauder and complain about this disgrace! You have been warned.

More expensive & A Lot Less Product!

Very disappointed. You get 70% less product with this new formulation and the company increased their price by about 32%. Ridiculous. If you are looking for an alternative, which you should, try Chantecaille. I have been using both for many years. I didn't have a favorite, since I enjoyed them both very much depending on my mood, La Mer did clog my pores a bit more, but I still enjoyed the finish. Now that they are offering only 8g of product, I will be looking for another great powder elsewhere, or just stick to Chantecaille. Also, if you are looking for an alternative that is also not talc based, try Chantecaille, you get a whopping 28g of product instead of 8g of La Mer's ridiculously expensive formulation. If you were to get 28g of La Mer, it would cost you over $330 dollars + sales tax. You do the math, is it worth it? I don't think so, but everyone is free to spend their money as they wish. I am just giving you an honest opinion here...
