The Neck and Decollete Concentrate Hydrating Cream

Glancing at some of the reviews on the LM website (lines diminished in 3 weeks, another by the next day!) I have to take a step back sometimes and ask myself 'is that even possible?'. The first thing I look at is the ingredients list. Granted it's a long one, and not significantly different to the ingredients listing of any other several dozen other LM products, many of which I've tried before or am in the process of trying. Then comes the curiosity stage 'what if it was possible?'. Followed by the purchase stage...or in this case a deluxe sample size that's lasted me just under 3 weeks - used on my neck alone. I've seen many references to this being a 'balm' but it definitely isn't. It's almost like a gel-cream, very slippery (due to very high silicone content) and leaves a slightly oily finish that never quite sinks in. It's basically like smearing primer all over your neck, but ingredients-wise perhaps the most elegantly formulated primer you could ever come across. The fragrance is exactly the same as a number of their other products, such as the hand treatment and it is strong! Be warned it follows you around and does not dissipate for some time. Did I notice any improvement in fine lines or neck lines in general after those 3 weeks? None whatsoever. In fact, despite all its silicones, it didn't even give the 'illusion' of filling them in temporarily whilst on my skin. This cream is so silky it goes very smoothly on your skin and it does change the texture and apperance of the neck and decolletage area. It does not mean that it is a highly dramatic transformation but I would say it is a significant change in appereance. I am on my second jar. I would not use the brush, since in my case it emptied my first jar rather too quickly. It is hard to control the amount. I use one of my fingertips to dab the cream on different spots on my neck and decolletage and then massage upwards. Found it much more effective.

I had high hopes on La Mer neck cream, as this brand never failed me and definitely helped to eliminate thin lines on my face. So I hoped neck cream would help with thin lines on the neck. I have been an avid La Mer user for years and years, but have found several of their recent releases to be marketing gimmicks courtesy of Estée Lauder’s acquisition of the brand. This release however, is on par with the brand’s original cult favorites. I received 3 generous size samples when I last replaced my empty bottle of “The Concentrate”, and have been thoroughly impressed. The effects are felt instantly, a cooling, contracting sensation, and over time, I have seen improvement, particularly in my jaw line. I haven’t completed my last sample, but have already purchased the full size.

So far I’ve only had the smaller jars of this that come in the sets, but I absolutely love it. When I’m ready to splurge, I will definitely buy myself the larger jar. It has such a creamy texture and I love the smell. I like to put it on at night before I go to bed, but I probably haven’t been using it long enough to be able to testify to any real results. But I can testify to loving the feel of it. When I was younger, I didn’t bother about my neck. But now that I’m in my 40s, I can’t afford to neglect it. Love this cream, just wish it was at a lower price point.
