La Mer
La Mer creates luxury, high-performance skin care and makeup by harnessing the power of the sea. Excellent investment.
Excellent investment. After using my wife's La Mer, I decided to buy my own.....and really like the lightness of this cream for daily use. It's not oily, it feels good to the skin, and fits into my dopp-kit for travel.

Not worth it
La Mer is overrated and overpriced and I can't believe so many people buy into the marketing story and hype. The ingredients are nothing special, cheap moisturising ingredients, like in drugstore moisturisers, and some 'extracts'. It's also fragranced which can cause more damage than good and drying alcohol. You can buy much better creams nowadays for much less save your money.

love it, but why has price just increased again?
Loyal customer. This is my favorite moisturizer. But it seems the price has been jumping up over the past few years. Another $10 in the last month. Do I need to look for other options?

Best for oily non-dehydrated skin types...
This is one of a few La Mer products (lip balm, hand cream & revitalizing mask) that's left a lasting impression on me. I tried a couple of sample tubes in the tiny 0.1 fl oz (3ml) size, using it on one side of my face only - the right side. Within 1 week that side was glowing and looked amazing, the left side which I was using Argan oil on looked dull in comparison. The contrast between the two sides of my face was vividly noticeable when looking in the mirror. Admittedly it didn't mattify or help control oil in my most oiliest areas (mostly t-zone), but something in here has an affinity with my skin and otherwise brings out the best in it. I've used the original creme, also the reformulated version of the gel-creme, and neither delivered the glow that this does, no matter how good they were as actual moisturizers. And in terms of moisture I've still needed to use my Hada Labo Hyaluronic Lotion underneath this as the La Mer lotion on its own isn't anywhere near as moisturizing enough for my oily-dehydrated skin type. If you're just oily with no dehydration, this will go down a treat as there's absolutely no tackiness or residue when you apply this, it literally vanishes into your skin within seconds as though nothing has been applied. Contains the typical La Mer fragrance and comes in a pump dispenser which is good for protecting the ingredients. Hoping there is a sale on this so I can purchase the full size, as my samples have now finished. I'm not going to hold my breath though, I've never seen their prices drop, only double in the last decade or so, since I started purchasing their products. -> My ‘Nordstrom Beauty Top 7 must-have list’ (My 7 favorite beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Nordstrom) <- < 1. Hair Loss Treatment: Divine Herbal Hair Oil < 2. Concealer: ‘Mac’ - Studio Finish Concealer < 3. Lip Gloss: Clarins Lip Comfort Oil < 4. Mascara: ‘Lancome’ – Cilis Booster XL < 5. Anti-Aging Serum: Divine Herbal Facial Treatment Serum < 6. Mask: ‘Eve Lom’ – Radiance Transforming Mask < 7. Face Scrub: ‘Sisley' - Botanical Gentle Buffing Cream

Just what you need for a healthy glow
A big fan of the old oil-absorbing lotion, I wasn’t sure I’d like this. But this new version is pretty amazing - so much so, I think there will be days I just use this as my moisturizer, no need to layer. Love the light texture, it is creamy, nourishing, and absorbs well. It eliminates any shine (for me, the T Zone) and replaces with just a healthy, natural glow. By no means does this dry or dull skin - you’re going to look fresh and radiant, just not shiny. I agree with others here that this makes an amazing primer.

IT'S JUST OK
I've been using this product for less that a week ,so I feel like I can't really give a fair review of the product just yet. All I can say for now is it's ok, I'm not really wowed. It has a really strong smell that reminds me of old school (80's) lotions that my grandma would use.

Great finish for oily or acne prone skin
My skin is oily in the summer months. I mix the La Mer sunscreen into this lotion everyday before I apply my makeup (sometimes I skip the makeup). My skin doesn’t dry out and is noticeably less oily.
