Floral Embroidery A-Line Gown

I have tried many different long dresses to wear for my daughter’s Summer wedding, of different brands, price ranges, styles and from numerous stores. This gown is absolutely beautiful! It’s figure flattering, long enough for me wearing 2” heels and I’m 5’ 8” tall. I can sit and walk and move easily in this. Eventhough the dress has three layers, it’s amazingly lightweight. The bodice is not itchy and the arms are tight fitting. I can raise my arms without a problem. I’ve never worn a dress with built in boning, but this bodice only has two and they just help to form the top and don’t restrict movement. I wear a size 16 in dresses, and this 16 fits true to size. The orchid pink color is actually more of a light lavender and the inner lining seems more grey or silver. The zipper did stick a bit at the place where the lining stops, but there was a little piece of embroidery lace caught in it and now it’s fine. The sewn in bra cups are too high up for me and I’ve already taken the dress for a few alterations including moving the bra pads. The embroidery is silver flowers with rose gold center sequins. The fabric doesn’t tend to wrinkle. To be honest, the dress is over my budget, but as soon as I tried it on, I knew I had found my MOB dress! Nordstrom sent in a thick well constructed cardboard box, in plastic and on a hanger.

When I tried on this dress for mother of the bride, my daughter and I both knew instantly that this was "the one." I had tried on several other dresses from various stores. The color of this dress is beautiful and it fits true to size. I did need alterations on the top and may decide to have the boning removed for a better fit on top. I purchased a size 16.
