Embroidered Illusion Neck Gown

Dress is pretty but too large on me and would require a great deal of alteration; it definitely does not run true to size. The quality and workmanship is disappointing and definitely not up to the standards I expect from Nordstrom. Fabric was puckered in several places near the back zipper and hem was not sewn properly.

A very pretty, elegant dress that I bought for my daughter's wedding. The problem with it - and the problem that I've found with all LaFemme dresses - is that the bodice is made for someone with a huge chest and, apparently, designed to be worn with football shoulder pads. My very skilled tailor is on the third round of trying to lift the shoulders and take in the bodice enough to fit me. I'm not optimistic that all his effort will yield a dress that is wearable. So, a lot of money down the tubes.

This dress just arrived and the fabric is heavy and the skirt quite forgiving. It could work! I ordered a 4, and I'm 5'9" 134 pounds. I carry my weight in my thighs, and this dress, if anything is big. It's for a very conservative setting, so it could be just right. Fabric not as soft and nice as I thought, particularly for the price. However, might be the one.

I ordered this as the GOTB dress for my granddaughter's black tie wedding. I think it really is much more attractive in the pictures as this material is very heavy and warm only after 10 minutes of having it on. The main reason I returned it is because the sleeves in the armpit area are very restrictive and would prevent any hugs to other people at the wedding. I am very disappointed and I would expect at this price it would be more friendly to comfort. I also did not like the built in cups as not all women are built the same in that area. I usually wear a 12 and that is what I ordered; it fit everywhere except the upper arm area. I am 5'5" and weigh 155 and would have had to have it hemmed several inches.
