Fragrance story: Its elegant black glass bottle is adorned with Kilian's signature finishes—the engraved plaque and galvanized cap, both rendered in gold, that come inside its own sculptural enameled wooden box. Once opened, the mirrored zamac lid inside reflects the luminosity, mysterious glamour and jewel-like quality of each bottle. Woman in Gold is a perfume as complex and dazzling as the woman who wears it. The notes conjure, in scent, the delicate gold leafing and play between light and shadow, for which its painting namesake is celebrated. Perfumer Calice Becker was inspired by the fascinating contrast between the painting's facets, which she describes as texturized and brilliant, rich and voluptuous. Its zesty luminosity is the fragrant expression of this brightness. The rose heart depicts all the facets of rose. Finally, vanilla absolute’s unctuosity appears generously in the drydown, adorned by an exclusive patchouli molecule, the akigalawood.
