Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil

Let me start by saying, I like skincare. I like good products, and I LOVE this cleansing oil! I had started to develop eczema on my eyelids...who gets eczema there!? I had removed everything from my skincare regime that I thought might be causing it and switched to using coconut oil. The coconut oil helped, but didn't get rid of it. One I started using this oil, the overall condition of my skin improved and the eczema was gone. I'm not saying this cued my eczema, just saying it's gentle and doesn't irritate your skin. It smells nice (just like the midnight recovery oil, lavender), rinses well, and leaves my face feeling clean but not stripped. I've used several other cleansing oils before as well, and this one is the tops!

It has taken a long time for me to wrap my head around the idea of cleansing "oil." I was reading yet another article touting such products and this product was recommended...AND happened to be one of the less expensive products cited. I LOVE it! My face feels clean and soft after using it. I have only tried it in the evening, to clean and remove makeup before sleep. I still use my regular face wash in the morning and add a face brush every few days to exfoliate. Note that the instructions say to not keep or use this product in the shower. I am a (youthful) 56, light makeup user, sensitive combo skin, and love trying new products. For me, this one is a keeper.

I bought this cleanser after stopping by the downtown Seattle Nordstrom in search of a pre-cleanse and face wash. The salesperson recommended this cleansing oil and said I wouldn't need the pre-cleanse with this (I like having a super clean face before bed). WOW! I LOVE this cleanser. First, it gets *everything* off. I wear foundation, blush/bronzer, eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner and lots of mascara everyday and this is the only cleanser I have used on it's own that removes the whole shebang. Second, even though it's an oil it does NOT make your skin more oily. I have combination skin and get really oily in my T-zone and dry on my cheeks and chin. This cleanser balances my skin so wonderfully and I love the texture and how soft and subtle my skin feels. I am prone to acne and redness and since using this cleanser (about 2 months) my acne and redness has gone down significantly. Third, it smells so so good! I like to give myself a little facial massage every night with this and it feels like such a treat. Bottom line, I'm in love with this cleanser and will be buying it for years to come!

As a skincare junkie I was really excited to try this, however I don't find it any better than a drugstore oil. It's thin in consistency, I prefer something a little more luxurious like the Tata Harper cleansing oil if I'm honest. I'll use it up, but I don't particularly look forward to using it.

First, I almost never write reviews so the fact that I'm making the effort to write this should say a lot. I cannot believe there aren't more glowing reviews about this cleansing oil! It is by far the best Makeup Remover I own... and I'm a little embarrassed to say I own a few dozen. This stuff literally melts all my makeup away (note- that does not include eye makeup). I do still recommend doing a second cleanse before doing your serums. Regardless- this was totally worth the $30 and I absolutely plan to buy this again!

This oil cleanser is ok. It’s a little thicker consistency than I like and I don’t feel that it removes all of my makeup especially waterproof mascara bc when I wake up the next morning I have “raccoon eyes.” My go-to favorite is the HadaLabo for reference. Also I don’t like the pump. It’s choppy when you push down and if you push too hard it squirts the product out. I love the scent though but wouldn’t repurchase.
