Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter

This product does work very well and is nice if you like the smell of coconuts. The texture is easily absorbed and leaves skin well moisturized all day. However, I realized after a few months of becoming very devoted to Kiehl's products that they are owned by L'Oreal, a company that has long used testing on animals. I'm discontinuing my use of Kiehl's because of this and thought it might be relevant to anyone who is trying to make more animal-friendly beauty choices.

I love Kiehl's body products, so I've been waiting to try this. It does soothe skin, but it is a butter, as it says, and stays on the skin for awhile before sinking in. This is good if your skin is dry and needs comfort, but not good if you need to put clothes on right away. The smell is definitely not for everyone, I think because of the milk (though you can smell the honey, too). I find it pleasant enough to use up the rest. The texture is awesome, like whipped butter. I am glad I tried it, but I doubt I'd buy it again because I'm not in love with the scent and it is a little heavy for my needs. If you like the scent and have dry skin, though, this would probably be a five-star product for you.

I live in Colorado, which has a very dry climate. I need body lotion which is extra moisturizing. This Kiehl's body butter is perfect for me! It keeps my skin hydrated all day, even on the dryest of days. The scent is pleasant but subtle, which is good because it does not compete with my perfume. I feel the price is good for the amount you get. I compared the cost to my old lotion, and here I get more for my money. I will definitely keep using this stuff!

I love the texture of this body cream - just right in middle of light and heavy, and it's so creamy and whipped, I want to spread it on some toast and eat it :# However, it is too light and whipped to be a body butter #dense, emollient, rich - sticks to everything - cream#. I use a walnut size for each half of my extremities #upper and lower half of legs and arms#, so I don't think an 8 oz. tub will last me long - bad, considering the price. It is moisturizing for my not too dry skin, but it makes it itch afterwards! It also leaves uncomfortable stickiness on my skin, like the feeling you get on a really humid day. As for the scent, its funny how some scents can drive one person to the brink of destruction and make another swoon. I don't find this scent particularly offensive, it smells actually a bit like soy milk #makes sense considering its name) and is not particularly strong. Nonetheless, I wont be buying this cream again. I will use it on my hands at night and be done with it.

I normally love Kiehl's and regularly purchase the Ultra Facial Cream and Ultra Facial Cleanser - both of which seem to work well for me. But, this product is incredibly frustrating. There are these small (plastic?) pieces mixed in with the lotion which are super annoying. At first, I thought it was just hardened pieces of the body butter, but they do not melt if you rub them between your fingers. I actually have to keep a little paper towel nearby when I apply this to wipe the little pieces off of my hand! I have no idea what these are and are they supposed to be in here? Maybe poor quality control and I just got a bad batch, but at this price, I'm certainly not trying to purchase this product again. One star because it does seem to moisturize decently and the smell is nice.
