Kids' Monster Trucks Mutant Chaos Loop Challenge Playset

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m honestly not sure how we feel about this one. The track itself is great, and the monster truck on its own is a lot of fun. My son has played with it for hours! In fact, he can go an entire day without putting the monster truck down. The track also works wonderfully with regular Hot Wheels cars and other Hot Wheels vehicles. However, for some reason, the monster truck that comes with the set and the track don’t seem to work very well together. You have to hit the truck really hard to get it through the loop—so hard that even with all my strength, I can only get it to successfully make it around the loop about 10% of the time. I can get it to jump, but getting it to actually go around the inside of the loop is extremely difficult. One thing I do really like is how durable everything feels. The track is made from very sturdy plastic, and the Hot Wheels monster truck is also made from durable material. It definitely feels like it can withstand plenty of playtime. The track does have one issue with its durability when it comes to moving it around. If you try to move the entire track from one side of the room to the other, or from the floor onto a table, it can come apart. The good news is that it’s very easy to click back together. However, my kids do need to ask me for help putting it back together when this happens. The slime is also really fun. It has a very watery consistency, so the kids have a lot of fun playing with the Hot Wheels vehicles in it. The slime will stop the vehicles and trucks, though, and once they hit it, they won’t go any farther—at least, I couldn’t get them to. There are also several different ways to play with this track. You can adjust it to make it longer or shorter, turn it sideways, have the vehicles jump through the loop, or try to make them go around the loop. You can also use it with other Hot Wheels vehicles, which adds even more ways to play. Overall, there’s a lot of fun to be had with this set, especially because my son absolutely loves the monster truck. I just wish the monster truck that comes with the set worked more easily with the track. That’s really the biggest downside for us.
