Kids' Miffy High Light Floor Lamp

I had this lamp for a very short amount of time and then put it in a bay window to display it in the room. It looked very cool, especially at night. But then I looked at Miffy the next day and half of his head collapsed in on itself from the heat of the sun. I didn't realize it would do this. Now Miffy looks like he has suffered. I am going to try to remove the light to see if I can heat it up and push out the dent but... I am scared I will melt a hole or make it worse. Don't make my mistake, so expensive!
