Firm and feel SLIGHTLY short
Tried these on and walked on hardwood. Not truly short, but because of the stiff rand coming up over the big toe, it felt just a bit "closed in and tight" to the distal top of my big toe. I am a size 36 in Birks, a 7 in active shoes, and measure between 6 & 6 1/2 on a Brannock device. Medium to slightly less than average volume foot.
6 1/2 is going back, and ordering 7. Liked the fit overall and especially the way the back cupped my heel. I live in the mountains and find waterproof is excellent for keeping the fine dust out of my shoes.

Cut but Taking a Long Time to Break In
I really love the color and overall look of these shoes but they were very stiff out of the box (maybe because of the waterproofing) and are taking a longer time to break-in and feel comfy like other sneakers. I also found the toe box narrower than expected.

Love it!
I already owned the NXIS Evo Waterproof Hiking Boots, so it was a natural choice when I saw that the style is now available as a shoe. Great fit, comfortable right away. Plenty of room in the toe box, which is very important for shoes that I will travel with. I only take 1 pair of shoes, maybe 2, on a trip, so comfort for several weeks is a must. These work wonderfully!
