Mixed Scarf Print Long Sleeve Midi Dress

I was on the fence about this dress, but ordered anyway (as many Anniversary Sale items sell out quickly). I found it’s even better in person. I’m 5’3 and this fits to about my mid-calf area. I’m happy with that length. I love that the sleeves are tight at the wrist and have a long row of buttons. I found that the tie waste accentuates my waste well; perhaps because it is a little wider and sewn onto the dress a little different than normal dresses. Overall, this is a flattering dress, and I’m excited to wear in the fall.

I'm 5' 7.5" tall with broad shoulders so I sized up from a 14 to 16. The shoulders were a bit tight, but the sleeves were about 4" short which means I couldn't button the cuffs. The waist fell about 3 inches higher than my waist. I gave it 3 stars because the material was interesting. Sadly I will be returning.

This dress looks great in-person -- much as it does online except the sleeves are balloon-shaped on someone of average height (unlike the model pictured). And there are side pockets! I ordered my two usual sizes and prefer the larger. The smaller size is what I wore in a different style of Julia Jordan dress, and it looked good on, but the arms restricted movement a bit. The larger size allowed movement and the waist is cinched in anyway.

I just received this today. It fits true to size, I have other dresses in this brand, size 2. This size 2 fits just right (5’5, 128lbs). The sleeves are weird though. There are numerous gold buttons on the cuffs, creating a tight cuff with a voluminous sleeve. The look is cute but it’s very uncomfortable. I have tiny wrists and these cuffs are super tight on me! It makes the whole sleeve fit weird. I can’t lift my arms up at all and I don’t think I could drive wearing this dress. The cuffs are so incredibly tight that I cannot move my arms! Such a strange issue to have with a dress. There is no give at all in the fabric of the sleeves. It’s such a pretty dress though, it will look great with ankle strap block heels. I’ll try it again tomorrow and see if I can live with it. If not, it sadly has to go back. Maybe this will be perfect for someone with shorter arms. (?)
