What it is: A fragrance that goes back in time, weaving weaving warm and ambery references with the deeply mysterious presence of oud oil.

Fragrance story: Luxuriously aromatic, sweet tobacco emanates with Levantine cypress and juniper berries in the form of top notes, below which opulent spices and rich floral dimensions mesmerize the scent's core. The background holds the mysterious personality of the sought-after oud oil. Paired with sensual woods, millennial resins and a signature black leather accord, this rare woody essence cloaks the wearer in an unforgettable scent.

Notes:
- Top: sweet tobacco, Levantine cypress, hyssop, clary sage, juniper berries.
- Middle: Persian saffron, royal cinnamon Laos, Malabar pepper, Sri Lanka cardamom, Zanzibar clove bud, Osmanthus absolute, Turkish rose absolute, Egyptian jasmine absolute.
- Base: authentic oud oil, Lebanese cedarwood, Andalusian labdanum, myrrh, opoponax, frankincense, black leather, amber.

Wonderfully rich & warm!

I purchased this for my husband's birthday because he likes other John Varvatos fragrances. I absolutely fell in love with the scent and so happy he enjoys it too. I can still smell it on him when he comes home from work!

not like any oud i know

I wish the product was as good as the packaging. smells nothing like any oud parfume I have experienced. it has a cheap spicy aroma that I find very off-putting. perhaps it is just the way it interacts with my skin. I was waiting a long time for this and i'm disappointed.

Wonderfully rich & warm!

I purchased this for my husband's birthday because he likes other John Varvatos fragrances. I absolutely fell in love with the scent and so happy he enjoys it too. I can still smell it on him when he comes home from work!

Not what I expected

I was unfamiliar with the OUD scent, however with this particular cologne, I was displeased with the overall product. The fragrance is very strong and overpowering for the first few hours, and then it fades out quickly after that. The odor reminds me more of a well used medicine cabinet, than a high quality fragrance that I would wear to impress.

What Scent?

Unfortunately, this scent does not last long on my skin, and after just one hour the only way someone can even smell this on me is if they put their nose up to my skin directly. I have attended gatherings with many people on several occasions, and not once have I received any compliments because no one can even smell this on me. I certainly don't use fragrance for the purpose of stinking up an entire room, but I do expect the person I am talking to and/or meeting to pick up on my scent. From my own experience, this fragrance did not live up to its price point. This product is going to have to be returned.

Rich rosy and very long lasting

I like the warm oud scent but still softer & not over powering. It's rich, rosy but softens when dries. It's trully elegant. I thought the price wasn't bad for an exceptional quality..I've been completed on wearing it & I love it.

Warm rose/oud.

This has the same basic DNA of many rose/oud fragrances, but this is very nice. Warm and rich smelling with no off-putting qualities that oud can sometimes have. It reminds of Oud Fleur by Tom Ford but without the sour note that the TF has. Very nice.
