A true rose scent
I wanted a true, single-note rose scent, and this is it. It smells to me *exactly* like what you smell when you stick your nose into a bouquet of fresh cut roses. It smells like the heady, floral rose flower with a bit of the green stems and leaves. It's a clean rose smell. Just roses; no bergamot, no ambergris, no sandalwood, no vanilla...nothing that detracts from the rose smell, which is consistent all the way through to drydown. On me, it fades on my skin by midday, but I am OK with that. It has been my signature scent for almost a year now. Great in the summer, not too heavy. Nice in the winter, not cloying. I will be getting a larger bottle this Christmas.

The only JM fragrance I’ve ever returned
I read the other review and thought that I must give this scent a try as a lover of all things roses and florals. This smelled like roses and raid bug spray mixed together. I was so disappointed. Out of the 7 or 8 JM fragrances I’ve bought, this is the only one I’ve ever returned.

Not quite what I want.
I read so many reviews about this scent and had been really excited about this product, but when I got it and put it on, I'm kinda disappointed. It does smell like roses, but that's it. It's too out there like telling everyone else "I'm wearing roses scent fragrency!" I think the smell is just like Crabtree Evely's rose water hand cream.

Real Roses
I'm in love!! All the fragrances I tend to lean towards are roses and this perfume, literally smells like roses. No imitation or kind of roses scent.

amazing.
LOVE THIS SCENT! I first fell in love with JM through the Blackberry and Bay, which I wore religiously for over a year until I decided it simply wasn't long enough wearing for me.
Having sampled nearly all JM fragrances since then, Red Roses is definitely one of my favorites. It's certainly one of the more long lasting, it's classic, its NOT cloying or sweet at all (very verdant heart) but of course romantic (as rose should be) and feminine.
I wear this day and night and love that it's fresh fresh fresh, not at all powdery, cloying or old-lady-like in any way.

OK cologne
I'm Jo Malone's big fan, and I love roses!!!! Unfortunately, this cologne is not for me. The cologne smells really good and just like roses, BUT after I sprayed it on me, the freshness of the scent disappeared quickly and only left a scent of old potpourri which also lasted all day. I personally prefer perfume/cologne that gives long lasting soft and fresh scent. If possible, I would love to try a rose cologne that smells like FRESH roses all day long.
