It's On Rib Cardigan

This cardigan is so cute and is a lovely texture & knit, however, it runs super small. I checked it out in store and grabbed my usual medium and thought huh, that's itty bitty. Then I picked up the large and the xlarge and they werent that much bigger but at least looked a bit more forgiving. I plan to buy the xlarge soon, as I want to wear this without having the buttons gap open as shown in the model photos. If you plan to wear it as shown in the product photos, then get your regular size, but if you want it to be more of a fitted traditional cardigan, I'd say size up 1-2 sizes. For reference my measurements are 36-30-39.

This sweater is not true to size. I needed a Large (size 12-14) and I wear an Extra Small (size 0-2). The only way I could button the bottom button was to get a large and it barely shuts. My hips are only 33 inches. If you are bigger there it won’t button. There is no stretch or give in the bottom hem of this sweater. The top is stretchy. The bottom hem is NOT stretchy. The top fits snugly and I’m 32-24-33. The sleeves are extra long but I like that. Be aware the model has the bottom of this sweater open because she can’t button it!! I like it but size up ladies.

I wanted a nice cardigan, that was different & this one seemed be just perfect. Looked beautiful with an interestingly intricate pattern & delicate buttons. Got the black, to start with. I’m usually a size Small/Medium depending on the item, designer & fabric. I knew small would get to be too short & with that in mind thought I’d get the Medium. However, I was reading the reviews & almost everyone was saying it ran “extremely small” & to get 2-3 sizes up? Surprised, though ok, perhaps it’s very narrow? And since it’s cotton, thought it may shrink as well. But, then again given that I am in the Retail Industry & familiar with fabrics, inc. the design, this was, in a sense a ribbed design which usually tends to actually stretch, at times quite a bit. Well, reviews had helped me in the past so I went with a Large. BIG mistake, as I thought. Depending on how you like to wear it, if tight then wear a Small . If you want a little extra room, then Medium. (using my sizing as example). Definitely NOT sizing up so much. And with that said, the cardigan itself looks beautiful but the fabric is very poorly done, stretches out of shape, finished nicely & will not last! Not to mention, it sheds. Tiny little pieces everywhere. Style is nice, execution terrible. Returned.

I’m between a small and medium top, leaning toward a medium in tops with buttons to avoid any gaping…5’1” 36DD. Usually Free People runs large so I sized down to small, but this top was too small. The sleeves and chest area were both tight and fit wasn’t flattering. Bought this during anniversary sale and will be returning.

Yes, it does run small! Size up. I’m usually a large but the X-Large fit best. I purchased the Cabernet and love it so much I’m ordering the Ivory as well. It is very flattering with bottom buttons open and closed.

I washed it once and sooooo many fuzzies came off. I had to vacuum my rug after lol. It feels kinda cheap for how much it costs tbh. But it’s really really soft and cute and flattering on. Excited to style it for fall
