IRO
In 2005, French brothers Arik and Laurent Bitton started IRO (pronounced "hero" but with a silent "h") with a small collection of tees, jeans and dresses that instantly resonated with the American cool girl. The line's pieces reflect both Laurent's time in the NYC rock scene and their family history in fashion, while still evoking that Parisian effortlessness.

Size up!
I bought both this Ashville and the moto leather jacket to compare. This Ashville jacket won by a landslide! It's super stylish, chic, and edgy. I'm a size 0 and sized up to the 4/36. The size 2/34 was so small I could barely zip up the jacket and the arms were super tight even when I just had thin layer underneath. I know the leather is supposed to stretch, but not that much. The leather is really high quality--soft and smooth. The crop fit is perfect length for us petites. Definite investment piece!

So in LOVE but VERY SMALL
I don't know if we Americans are just huge but there is no way this size 42 is a 10! I couldn't even get my arms in the sleeves, I mean this jacket is so tiny! I cannot tell you how sad I am because I ADORE the look of this jacket. I have been lusting for a year over last year's IRO Ashville colors, now this year more beautiful colors! The style is so on trend and the leather is a nice medium weight yet very soft. And like I said, the colors IRO is doing the Ashville in are so amazing I want to cry. I am so sick of seeing, black leather jacket, black leather jacket, wait is that a dark brown, no it's another black leather jacket. Oh please if the powers that be are listening, if you are going to sell in the USA make some larger sizes, we will buy them if you come!!! If you are blessed with a tiny frame buy this jacket and wear it for all of us curvier woman who cannot.

Sizing is ridiculous!
I am 5'2", size 0 in American sizing. I bought the 36 and it is small! The shoulders, sleeves, and sleeves length are all spot on but the jacket is very snug when closed. Although I do not plan to wear it zipped, keep in mind that if your objective is to wear this jacket over thicker layers, size up. I have a feeling a size 38 would look sloppy on my frame. The shoulders would droop, and the sleeves would be too roomy and long, but the jacket would close a lot easier. I recently watched a video for sizing a leather jacket. The shoulder seam should sit right on your shoulder, not inward or outward; the sleeves should not be so tight that you feel "stuck" with limited range of arm motion, and the length of the sleeves should end just below your wristbone. The waist of a moto jacket is less important. You should be able to zip it up, even if it's a little tight due to the asymmetrical zipper that is fine, it is still your correct size. In other words, the shoulders and sleeves are more important for fit in this style versus closing it comfortably because if it closes easily it may end up being larger in the other more important places and lose the fitted, close to body effect when worn open. I adjusted the buckles to the very first hole and unzipped the side pockets which now makes it easier to close the jacket, but it is still a snug fit when zipped. I always debate returning it but then I try it on again and change my mind!

IRO Ashville
This jacket is gorgeous. It does run small so definitely size up. I normally wear a small or an XS in tops (I am 5'5", 130 lbs., wear a size 25 in jeans and 30FF bra). I first ordered this in the US 8/FR 40 because that's all that was available. The sleeves were really tight even with a tank top, but the rest of the jacket fit perfect. I returned it & decided to try the next size up (US 10/FR 42) since it became available. The sleeves were definitely looser but the rest of the jacket looked a little too boxy. I contacted IRO who advised me to go with the smaller of the two sizes because the sleeves would stretch. I called the store where I returned the 1st jacket to & it had been sold. Luckily the sales rep found me the last US 8/FR 40 in the company & ordered it for me. I received it & am so happy. The sleeves on this one are not super tight like the first one (I can wear it comfortably over a long sleeve shirt) & it fits perfect!! I tried at least 6 or 7 different moto jackets before this one because I really didn't want to spend this much. However, I was not in love with any of the others and decided it was worth spending the money on this one since it is the classic black moto jacket I had been looking for and the quality is amazing!!

runs small-order TWO sizes up
I love this jacket but had to return it due to size and I did size up. I'm 5'7" 118, an xs, 0-2 in all tops and dresses, 2 in pants (26), and I listened to recommendations to order one size up. The 4 was tiny- if you want it super super fitted maybe go one size up but I was uncomfortable. Hoping it comes back in, in a 6.
