Details & care
Our ultrasoft hydrocotton towels and washcloths are specially woven for maximum absorbency. A unique process leaves the yarns untwisted, creating greater surface area. Plush and thick from the start, these towels only get softer and better with time, especially if you forego fabric softeners and dryer sheets.

Fabulous towels
I didn't know what to expect from a store-bought brand, but these are by far the best towels we've ever owned! They have stayed beautifully soft and are extremely absorbant. We are just sorry that we did not purchase more!

Color faded quickly
Bought the gray vapor. After about 3 months all the towels have faded to an off yellow color. I
use Tide, as I have for years and did not use bleach of any kind.I didn’t return them because they had sat for 5 months in storage still in the box waiting for our house to be built. Very upset that they don’t match our bathroom now.

Poor Quality, Color Loss Issues
Very disappointed in these towels! I should have listened to other reviewers who warned about the color loss issues.
Purchased the Grey Vapor color, and after 4 washes all of the towels have orange blotches.
I use Trader Joe's organic liquid detergent, which is extremely gentle and never use fabric softener or bleach.
Have never experienced this with towels before. The towels are very soft and absorbent, but the color
loss is a poor trade off. Will not purchase these towels again :-(

Overrated Towels
I am quite confused by so many high ratings. I confidently purchased four of these towels after reading glowing reviews; however, my experience was just the opposite. Though the towels are thick and very soft, the material feels cheap. A slippery/greasy feel to the towel hinted at the poor absorbency to come. The closest comparison I can make is to the tissues coated in lotion. Yuk. Yes, the pricing is low and the towels feel wonderful to start, but I returned these after one use. These towels practically refuse to accept water. Water off a duck's back! I should also note that after just one wash, there was a spot where the tan color bleached out (no bleach used, and no exposure to skin care products known to stain towels). Still searching for a soft, not-too-thick/not-too-thin, absorbant towel that keeps its color in the wash. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thankfully, Nordstrom is a class-act business. Smooth return process; no questions asked. They just want us satisfied and I appreciate this.

color fades
I want to love these towels, they are so soft when I first got them, but after a few washes they have faded significantly. Purchased in “Vapor Gray” and some of them I have washed have turned a light gray with yellow undertones. I only use sensitive skin, dye free detergent, and none of my other laundry has had color issues so it is not from the way I wash them. Very disappointed for the price.

Hyrdocotton is a barely absorbant polyblend
Bought two towels from local store to test. Washed them before using. These did not absorb much, if any, water after my shower. Natural organic cotton absorbs water very well and requires almost no effort to dry yourself. From what I can tell, these are likely some type of polyblend, made with inorganic plastic threads weaved with cotton threads. I'm not sure how they get away with the “100% cotton” label, but it’s not accurate.
As someone who actually knows what real 100% cotton looks like, feels like and costs, this “Turkish" cotton is not equitable to American Pima or Egyptian cotton. Usually, I can tell by the way it feels. Unfortunately, I found most stores are now selling “Turkish” or “Agean” cotton towels and they are all the same polyblend as the Nordstrom Hydrocotton. It’s very, very hard to enjoy polyblend when you are used to 100% Egyptian cotton.
You’ll notice a great deal of fibers left in your washing machine the first time you wash your towels. A large percentage of these fibers are likely micro-plastics that wash down the drain, make their way to the ocean and into the seafood ecosystem. Eventually, we eat the micro plastics when we eat the seafood. Polyblends are a really terrible solution to the economic realities of inflation and profit-making. I hate that Nordstrom has chosen to sell these towels. Life is hard enough without polyblends. My recommendation is not to buy them and find real 100% cotton towels instead.
