Perfect Rain Boot! Fit & Size!
Hi there! I read some of the reviews and got nervous, meaning I wasnt sure what size to order because mostly- all of the reviews mentioned that these boots run big and to order a size down! Well, I'm a size 10 all day long! I'm an exact 10! I was nervous to go down a size, until I came across one review that said NOT to listen to other reviews and order your true size. I then researched and contacted someone at Hunter Boots directly and was told this....Although the boots are a little roomy, they are meant to be because its a rain boot and not a dress boot! Also, these boots are meant to be worn with their welly socks (which I highly recommend trying a pair, they are soo warm and cute!). Anyway, I went ahead and ordred my true size 10 and I"m soo soo glad I did, I could not imagine these boots being any smaller! NO WAY! The size 10 fit perfect. In fact, I ordered a pair of welly socks and the socks made the boot a little snug! So...with that said, I recommend you do NOT listen to the other reviews even though there are like hundreds of them saying to order a size down! I realize there are only a small number of us who suggest to oder your exact size! If you dont trust me, then do what I did and contact a rep at Hunter Boots directly. The only thing I can gather out of the other reviews suggesting to go down a size, is they must be wearing them like a fitted pair of boots which Hunter Boots ar NOT meant to be! They are RAIN BOOTS! Again, take my word! Your exact size means you can wiggle your toes a little! And with a pair of Welly socks, theres no toe wiggling! Order a pair and try it, and also order a pair of the Welly socks to go with them! Hunter Boots website has some Welly socks on sale so you can try out a pair for less to determine if you like them or not! The cable Welly socks are cute! Both together with your actual shoe size are perfect, trust me! ps., I just ordered my third pair of Hunter Boots.. size 10!

Poor quality
I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase Hunters. I absolutely loved them in the grey...until I walked outside in the rain. My feet were soaked. It happened again so yes, they were definitely leaking. I called Hunter and they said that sometimes there is a problem with the seal and they just leak. They advised there was nothing they could do for me and I would have to take them to where I bought them. I immediately took them back to Nordstrom. As always, Nordstrom provided their great customer service and immediately changed them. I wore the new pair outside in wet weather and my feet were yet again soaked. These boots provided zero protection against wet weather. I am extremely disappointed with the quality especially because of the price! My previous pair of 20 dollar rain boots even lasted a year and a half. Thank goodness I purchased them at Nordstrom and was able to get a refund. I would not recommend these boots to anyone.

Love these boots
I purchased these boots in the Military Red a few days before Christmas because I knew we were supposed to have a decent amount of rain. Plus, red Hunters have been on my wish list for a while and I thought it would be a great way to add some color to my outfits. I went with my standard size 6 to make sure I had plenty of room for my calves (I wanted to be able to wear these over jeans) and I knew there would be times I would wear these with thick socks. The fit was just right. I was still able to wear these over jeans without any problem. The color is the perfect shade of bright red. The first full day I had them I wore them and got several compliments. I know I'll get plenty of use out of these through the holidays and really year round. The quality is fantastic as well. Definitely recommend.

Nordstrom To the Rescue!
To me these boots are just wonderful old Wellies, but to young women from 13 to 30, they are suddenly the hottest thing since Uggs, Sperrys and Sorels! Great looking, great wearing, and distinctively the hottest boot going. A week before Christmas, my teenaged granddaughter spotted the Pillar Box Red Hunter boots and spent nearly 15 minutes trying them on, texting her friends and sending photos to everyone. I could tell that THIS was the one gift that would would make her Christmas morning perfect. My store was sold out of THE color in her size. Our sales associate managed to slip away and locate the LAST PAIR at another store (sold out online). The SA arranged to have the boots sent to my home. By the time I got to the parking garage, I had a call that, despite the receipt in my purse, the pair he'd found for me had been sold out from under us by a simultaneous order. I searched the web from one end to another -- only Hunter of England had them, but no way to get them here for Christmas. Meanwhile, my enterprising SA had not admitted defeat -- he managed to find a pair about to arrive in Nordstrom inventory, snagged them, and had them sent to arrive in time to be wrapped and rushed under the tree. Granddaughter's joy and gratitude was matched and possibly exceeded only by my own. Once again, Nordstrom put the magic back into Christmas shopping!

Not worth the money.
I bought my hunters last year in january, by august one of the heels was squeaking, which led me to believe they were obviously defective. I emailed hunter. nothing. again a couple months later. nothing. I'm now on my third email to them and I have given up. Hunter boots are sold to people at an extremely high price on their name alone. Their customer service is non existent. Also the reviews that talk about how cold they are are right, I bought liners and wear super thick socks with them, and they're still cold. Take your money and invest it in boots that will last with a brand who has excellent customer service (that brand from maine with boots priced for the product)

A Great New Addition to my Wardrobe!
I just received my Hunter Original High Gloss Boots in Military Red. I have not yet had the chance to wear them out but I did walk around the house in them and I love them! Having moved to the Philly area from Arizona, these are the first pair of rain boots I have ever purchased. Before making the decision to buy the Hunter boots, I did some research and found that the Hunter brand is very well known for the quality of their rain boots. I chose the Military Red color because I love the color red and these boots did not disappoint. The boots have a really nice cushion to them when you walk and while they do feel heavier than what I'm used to, I don't really mind that knowing that they have a good solid rubber sole and heel.
Now to address the sizing - I normally wear a size 6 1/2 and ordered these in the size 6. It is a perfect fit with socks. I have pretty skinny legs so I had some concerns about the shaft of the boot being too loose but it turns out that I had nothing to worry about. My calves measure about 13" around so with my socks on and my pants tucked into the boots, there wasn't too much extra space (still some but not too much).
The other area of concern for me was the shaft height. I'm only 5'4" so I was worried that the boots might come up too high and hit me at the knees but that was not the case. Overall, the boots were a really good fit and I'm looking forward to wearing them out.
