Original Tall Adjustable Back Waterproof Rain Boot

I have large calves and wasn't able to fit in to the original tall boots. The wide calf option, the Huntress, is too wide through the ankles, too short, and super unflattering. This boot allows me to get my calves in with pants or leggings and adjust as needed. I really hope they start offering these boots in the high gloss and more color options!! If you are wanting Hunter boots but are limited by your calf size, give these a try!

I am beyond happy with these boots. I have fairly wide calves (about 15.75"), and have struggled to find tall or even tall-ish boots for years. Regular boots, and rain boots. I have tried the Hunter regular tall boots before (couldn't even get past my calves at all). I have tried the Huntress boots (fit my calves, but were oddly short--more like mid-calf on me and I'm only 5'4). These boots are IT for wide calved girls looking for a genuinely TALL rain boot. Yes, they are pricey, but they easily fit my calves, were adjustable, and would fit calves larger than mine for sure. They are also truly TALL boots--none of this cheap, weirdly mid-calf cut-off I find in so many "tall" boots made for wider calved ladies. Like I said--I'm 5'4, and these came to about 1.5" below my knee. Just tall enough to barely touch the back of my leg above the knee when sitting, but not uncomfortably so. I was hesitant to spend this much on rain boots, considering Ive tried Hunters before and sent them all back. Glad I took the chance--absolutely THRILLED with these boots!

I purchased a pair of the Hunter adjustable boots because I thought they would be easier/faster to put on and off. Initially, I was reasonably happy with the fit and style. However, one of the metal buckles cracked in half after about a dozen uses. Now the boot is unwearable. I made a warranty claim with Hunter because the boots were less than a year old, and provided the surprising amount of documentation required. After much delay, the company emailed and refused to honor their warranty without explanation. Instead, they offered me a 20% discount on a new purchase. If you're thinking about a Hunter product, be advised that the company does not stand behind their two-year warranty. Moreover, the process they impose for filing a claim is time intensive and inconvenient. Good luck if you ever have a problem with their product!

I've wanted a pair of Hunter boots for awhile but like others, I never pulled the trigger because I couldn't find any that properly fit my calves. My calves aren't abnormally large but they're athletic and though regular Hunters fit my calves, there was no extra room for me to wear them with jeans. When I saw these, I tried them on and was pleasantly surprised to find I had plenty of room for jeans, and/or a boot sock. The adjustable back means I can customize these as well. I like that they're just wide enough at the middle to top of the shaft and still tapered at the ankle so they don't look overly large. I finally took the plunge and bought a pair with a gift card I received from my Dad for Christmas. I've worn them twice since then (in rain and snow) and absolutely love them. I know others have said these run large and to size down but I went with my normal size 6. It's roomy but I wanted that so I could comfortably wear a thick boot sock or a shearling insole. These are comfortable on their own and I've worn them out and about for several hours with no discomfort. Since these are a matte finish, I think these look a bit less like a rain boot and more like a regular boot which gives me the option to wear these as part of an outfit without feeling like I need to change shoes. Overall, very happy with these. I'm hoping Hunters will make these available in their bright gloss Military Red soon because that's next on my list. Definitely recommend.

These boots are great! Originally I wanted the classic style but I now love the adjustable back. These boots go great with anything and can be dressed up or down. Really great for walking to class in the rain, true life savers if you ask me. The adjustable back is really convenient when I want to pull them on over thicker sweatpants or snow pants. They are true to size and very easy to clean if they get dirty. If you're contemplating buying these, I hope this review helps!

I tried the non-adjustable first - and they were just a little too snug on my calves. The adjustable still provides a tight fit to keep the water out - but more flexibility to take on and off. Also - my shoe size is an 8 - 8.5. I ordered an 8 in these boots and it fit fine!
