Hunter boot quest over!
I rarely write reviews, but I definitely had to share my experience with those of us who are challenged in the calf area and finding a pair of boots that fit properly.
FINALLY! I have always envied a pair of Hunter boots, but have searched endlessly for the past several years for a pair that fit. For reference, I have 17 1/2 calves and wear a size 9. I have often joked that I do not have calves, I have cows. So the search begins...Huntress; no sorry, not wide enough, tall adjustable.. almost, the gusset needs to be about 2" deeper because it still buckled around the ankles, Chelsea; too snug around the ankles and wouldn't keep my pants dry during heavy rain (ugh, I hate wet pant legs during the rain!) and finally, enter the short adjustable boot! I could not be more ecstatic that these pair fit! Finally the search is over. I am super happy that I have found a pair that fits and thus, the quest is over.. well, not quite, if only they had a tall adjustable one with a deeper gusset and in black gloss.. but until then I am super happy knowing that I have a pair of Hunter boots that will keep me dry and fashionable in the rain. =)

Stylish
I love them. They are so comfortable and very easy to clean. I don’t have to struggle to put the boot on. I have a wide calf which is why I got the adjustable but honestly I could’ve gotten the tall ones and been perfectly fine. They are true to size so no need to size up. My feet are wide and I still have wiggle room in these boots which is fine by me because I can wear thick socks with them. I would purchase again!

i'm short w/ big calves...
I have wanted to purchase Hunter boots for a while. Considering the cost and different styles, I wanted to make sure my first pair was a good investment. Hopefully this review can help others in a similar predicament.
I am 5'2", 130 lbs, with muscular legs (not thin), and 15" calves (not slim). I wear a 7 in most footwear (sandals, slippers), except for athletic shoes/boots which I prefer a 7.5 to make room for socks; average width foot.
Tried on the original tall boots in 7, my calves with jeans just barely squeezed into with no gap, but in my opinion it didn't work with my height/build. I noticed some wiggle room in the toe area. With thick socks there would have probably been room. Next I tried the tall adjustable back boots in size 6, which gave a much better fit in the calf area. The fit was perfect in the foot with a normal sock. Overall, I really liked the fit in footcalf, and looks, but just not on me. I also tried a Huntress in size 5, which also fit my foot (snug) and calf with a gap b/w jeans. Heightwise looked great. The wider ankle area didn't bother me at all. But I would have preferred a size 6 and different color.
Resorted to online research between the original short and the original short w/ adjustable back, both unavailable in size so I couldn't try on. Decided to go with the adjustable back short in size 6 and matte black based on the fit with the tall adjustable back in size 6.
Received it quickly. It was immaculate from the box, no bloom, no scratches, just perfect. The first time I wore it all day with regular thickness socks and jeans. Fit perfect, no problems with my heel sliding up or hurting at all. Big thumbs up! Glad I went with these.

For the Wide Calf
These are great. I'm 5'2" and have wide calves (16"). I finally gave up on my original talls (and how they awkwardly bulk at the ankles), and bought these. I'm so happy I did! They finally fit appropriately, and because I'm 5'2" they don't look awkward on me. I also go the Hunter socks to go with them, and they have been a great addition to my wardrobe. So glad I made the switch.

Wide Calf Proof!
I love these boots! I tried hunter boots in the past but most wouldn’t go up my calf, or if they did they were very tight. These are amazing! I tried them on with shorts and there was still plenty of room to wear with jeans or leggings! They are super comfy and not as heavy as I thought. I am so excited to jump on the Hunter boot trend!

Cute boots for large calves!
I had essentially given up trying to find rain boots until I found these! I was skeptical at first, given how often boots are described as wide-calved and still don't work for me. Large-calved ladies, look no farther as these boots are fantastic!
I ordered both a 5 and a 6 (my typical size is 6) due to the mixed reviews on how true to size these are. I could barely get the 5 on, but the 6's are great and have enough room for thick socks or those cute welly socks. Not only that, but my jeans also easily fit in them!
I haven't gotten to test these out in the rain yet, but I highly recommend based on both the fit and the aesthetics.
