What it is: A double-ended brush custom-designed to be used with Veil Translucent Setting Powder (sold separately).
What it does: The smaller, tapered side is perfectly shaped to set the undereye area, while the large, rounded side is designed to be used for allover application on the face. The ultrasoft, synthetic bristles are perfectly dispersed and shaped to pick up the ideal amount of loose powder to create the most airbrushed, perfected complexion.
How to use: Use the smaller, tapered side to set the undereye area. Use the large, rounded side to apply powder all over the face. Gently clean the brush with mild soap and water and leave flat to dry.

If you had to pick up one brush, this would be it. Aside from foundation application, this can be used for all your powders for all over, cheek and eyeshadow applications.

doesn’t live up to the hype
Honestly paying as much it was, I’m disappointed. I specifically bought this to use for a finishing powder so really just needed a brush to tap all over. After every single use I have to pick up a magnify mirror and pick out the debris it leaves behind. But when I use a cheap old bare minerals brush, it actually does the job and nothing left but a nice finish. Go figure, that saying you get what you pay for DOES NOT APPLY TO THIS.

Fantastic quality
Ive been hooked on MAC brushes for years and just keep replacing with the same style of brush when it begins to break down. I was planning to do just that while shopping online I saw the brand HOURGLASS. I had recently seen model Kat Bock do plug for the brand and she always looks flawless. I decided to give the brand a shot. Well I love this brush! I use the larger end for applying bronzer which it distributes evenly and beautifully, I use the smaller end for blush. I would say the only downside I can think of is the fact that because it has a brush on either end it must be stored laying flat. I previously kept my makeup brushes, brush side up in a cute cylindar storage container. No big deal though! Probably more saitary to store in the drawer than exposed to the dust and germs in the bathroom air.

Not it.
I bought this brush after years of coveting it. It seemed like a great solution, a one-and-done brush for loose powder, bronzer and blush that would be perfect for travel and a minimalist make up kit. Having had it for a year, I’m bummed to say that I never reach for it. The bristles are too long, too sparse, and too soft to give me the control I need. I have to use (and waste) so much product to get anything to show up on my skin. As a fair skinned person who uses a light hand, that is saying something. I dislike the super domed shape, it doesn’t maneuver intuitively around the face. The only bristles that make contact with your face are the longest ones in the middle of the dome, the rest are sort of pointless. It’s also not great for travel, as it’s 2-3” longer than a typical full sized brush and doesn’t fit in most travel pouches. It didn’t fit the bill and didn’t give me the results I was hoping for.

Just buy it!
I’ve had my eye on the veil powder brush for a long time, but I wasn’t ready to make the investment. However, a combination of a discount weekend and my vouchers finally made me bite the bullet and I’m so happy I did. This is the softest powder brush I’ve ever used. It diffuses powder effortlessly while feeling really nice to use. It’s easy to clean, doesn’t shed, and I have absolutely no regrets.
