Houndstooth Cotton Tweed Midi Skirt

This skirt is well made, good cotton, true to size. But in person, it doesnt look like a ninety dollar expensive skirt. Perhaps the houndstooth pattern is truly suited to wool textures only -- not sure. The skirt would not work with any of my black tops and I finally accepted that this is not going to work. Returned.

Very happy with this purchase. I ordered my usual size (small) and it fits perfectly. I love the cotton tweed because the skirt is perfect for spring and fall (paired with a blouse or merino sweater), but can also be worn in winter (with a cashmere turtleneck and boots). In my opinion, the houndstooth print works fine on the cotton fabric. Just be aware that, first, the houndstooth pattern may be a bit larger than what you've seen on other items of clothing, and second, the fabric has some texture to it — just as you'd expect from tweed — which makes the houndstooth print look a little less tidy. (I have a jacket with a tiny, tightly woven houndstooth pattern, and that fabric is very smooth and tidy; this skirt has a totally different look and feel.)
