Warmer than it looks
I wanted an easy lightweight jacket and was attracted to this plaid. I have many solid color coats and/or sweater cardigans. This was just a different style for me. I have used this many times since I purchased. It runs I would say one size larger. For a coat I would normally take a large but purchased this jacket in a medium and the fit was great and I am 5'4" and 180 lbs. It is warmer than it looks because it is a denser fabric. I think it is soft just not like a regular fleece would be. The sleeves are a bit long for me but the length comes past my thighs so it keeps you nice and warm and covered. The only thing I would add would be pockets on the bottom instead of on top. Otherwise I love it.

favorite layering piece
I love this jacket and have been wearing it nonstop since getting it. It’s a great layering piece that I’ve worn around the city and I’ve taken it camping.
Order a size down since it is *huge* but also know that it should be loose enough to wear a sweater/sweatshirt underneath. There are no side hand pockets on this coat so can make it awkward to hold your phone and keys without a purse. The chest pockets are large and I’m getting used to using those
I’ve washed it once and it holds its shape decently well.
