Pop Quiz Water Resistant Backpack

I purchased this backpack for my son who is going to 8th grade. I am very happy that I did because it is perfect. Now that my son has to take a laptop to school he needed a backpack that would be able to carry all his books and a laptop. This backpack is perfect because there is a separate protective pocket for a laptop but still has a a full size area for books. You can feel that it is made from a thick durable material and I also love that this bag is waterproof because if he ever gets caught in the rain I know that his laptop will be safe.

Pros: Great for college students (might be a bit large for shorter customers). Chose Herschel because of their history of quality and reasonable pricing. Addition of water bottle holders. Black internal lining and removal of the synthetic leather from the bottom of the bag. Cons: No fleece linings. Limited padding. Price increase. The New 25L Pop Quiz Backpack has been an essential part of my daily routine. As a college student, I carry many items such as notebooks, a laptop, and other electronics to lectures and meetings. I found that the backpack serves me well in the academic setting but I also find it incredibly useful outside of university. Because I stand at just 5'3'', this backpack may lean toward the larger side to shorter customers, yet I've discovered that the added room proved to be valuable when I needed the extra space. I noticed that I needed to find a new backpack since my other backpack (the original pop quiz) started showing signs of wear, specifically on the bottom where the synthetic leather is located. I do extensive research before I buy a product that will be used as an EDC so when I decided to purchase another Herschel backpack it tells you a little about the quality of their products for their reasonable prices. The feature that I found most exciting was the water bottle holders which were noticeably absent from the original pop quiz backpack! It is a game-changer because I can now fit my 40 oz Hydro Flask and other items I need quick access to. Another change that I liked was their switch to a black internal lining as opposed to the signature red. I also enjoyed the removal of the synthetic leather from the bottom of the bag which I mentioned earlier was where the wear and tear was most visible. There are some things that I did not enjoy which was the removal of the fleece lining in both the easy access pocket and the laptop sleeve as well as the removal of the small inner pocket in the main compartment where I used to store a bottle (since there was no bottle holder and other small items such as my wallet, perfume, portable charger or sunglasses case). Although I found this disappointing it wasn’t a deal-breaker. Herschel could improve on providing better padding to the straps which adds additional comfort to students like me who carry a substantial load throughout the day. I found that Herschel lacks in their ergonomic designs and appears to lag behind competitors when it comes to prioritizing customer comfort. It would also be convenient for Herschel to add in another pocket inside the main compartment and I might even dare to suggest another sleeve for smaller electronics. To summarize: Overall a great backpack that suits my daily routine. Trust your judgment and see what works best for you.

New Pop Quiz is a huge downgrade an not worth it! I was hugely disappointed with this bag. I have one I bought three years ago that I love but hate the new model. It no longer has a fleece-padded computer compartment or sunglasses holder. Downgraded materials, the details have changed and they are charging you more for an inferior product. I recommend that you look at their sale items if you want a better bag at a cheaper price. More expensive and not as good.

I love This new upgrade but I think it’s decline in quality but increase in price. I had this bag from many years. And tis new version doesn’t have fleece pocket for laptop and glasses. This new one doesn’t have as much padding in laptop pocket. Honestly, need to look for other options. Herschel has joined hands with other brands too where there is increase in prices but decline in quantity. Thanks
