Little America - Mid Volume Backpack

First let me start by saying I´m a student who commutes to the university and I needed a nice backpack to hold all the things I need during the day. The best part about this bag is that it has a compartment for your laptop so I don´t need my laptop protector (adds more weight and space), as its thickly lined with fabric that keeps it from getting scratched from other things in my bag. Also, I like that it keeps my Macbook Pro separate. Another positive is that its a magnetic closure vs the buckle, so its easier to access my things. I don´t carry many books as I store them in a locker but I can imagine storing 2-3 medium sized books if necessary. Also the laptop is stored a little higher on your back so won´t feel that strain of heavy objects - leaving the bag itself feeling a bit lighter than regular backpacks. Most cons are purely cosmetic. I wish that the leather they used was of a better quality and that there were flat pockets on the inside to store small things. Also the laptop compartment will only fit laptops 13inches or smaller.. I also travel a lot and based on the fabric I sense it withstanding a lot of the common wear and tear.

I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and although I fell in love with the overall aesthetics of this backpack, it really isn't all that functional for school. Size-wise it's great...it has a pocket in the front and fits all the stuff I need for school. The little slot for the laptop is nice too. But, what I ended up really not liking about the backpack was the leather straps...they bend really easily and show creasing after very minimal use. Plus, it's kind of a hassle when you need to get into the front pocket and you have to unbutton the straps before you can unzip the pocket. I wouldn't recommend this for school...it's a little too fussy for my taste. I returned it and ended up going for the Herschel mid-volume Settlement backpack.

Bought this bag largely based on my desire to have a decent backpack that was easy on the eyes as well. I would say it does the job as an every day lap top bag. The padding on the backside as well as straps are more than enough for casual use. I wouldn't go on a 7 day hike with it or anything but it is great for the urban jungle and airport safaris.

Great bag! It is roomy and just the right size. I was worried about the bag being too big! I had mostly seen pictures of Men with the bag and wasn't sure if it was a good size for a girl. It is BIG but not overwhelmingly large. I was able to put my 15" macbook pro snuggly into the laptop compartment... BUT I can see why some people may say it does not fit! I am using this bag for my upcoming US road trip and plan to use it for future travels. The bag has an old school look but new feel. The shoulders are padded and so is the back. The Bag has double "security" in that the top compartment has a drawstring & the magnetic closure of the flap and the small pocket has a zipper & again the magnetic closures of flap. I purchased the bag in Navy and I am absolutely in LOVE with the color and look. I had preferred the khaki but it was on back order and did not want to wait. Doesn't matter now because I LOVE the NAVY!
