Herring Fair Isle Wool Blend Turtleneck Sweater

The sweater arrived just before the event I planned to wear it to, so I did not wash it before first wear. After wearing once, I noticed the waist area had stretched (I tucked front of sweater into pants), but it wasn’t anything alarming. I laundered exactly according to instructions- including using a gentle detergent meant for wool - and the sleeves and upper part all shrank, while the waist area was still stretchier than it should be. The pilling also was terrible. The pattern of the sweater is beautiful, but it should likely be labeled dry clean-only. That may have allowed me to get more than one wear out of it (although with the stretching, dry cleaning after each wear also doesn’t sound great). Expected more from Barbour, and wish I had chosen a different sweater, as the per wear cost for this one is pretty high.
