Fabulous Henckels Knife Set

Love my new Knives, wish I had bought them sooner. Very sharp, great weight and comfortable handles.

knives looked pre-used

I waited a week for these expensive knives to come in. To start, the plastic packaging the knives came in looked wrinkled and had small holes in them. Secondly, every single knife looked like it was pre-used, the chefs knife had a 2 inch scratch on the blade. The other knives had what looked like fingerprints on them and other imperfections.

Good knives, but not totally "dishwasher-safe"...

The blades are very good quality, and the block looks great. The only quibble we would have is that although the knives are promoted as "dishwasher-safe," the handles became slightly discolored when we ran them through the dishwasher the first time. So, it is better to wash these knives by hand.

It was about time!

We have used the same department store set of knives for at least 20 years, lately mostly complaining every time about the steak knives not being sharp enough, paring knife wouldn't cut a tomato, bread knife "chewing" the bread instead of slicing. We finally purchased a Henckels paring knife at a local kitchen store and we were hooked! After a few days of using the new knife and realizing how it felt to have a sharp, comfortable to hold knife we 'bit the bullet' and bought an entire 15-pc set of Henckels knives with a nice Knife Block. Every knife in the block is sharp and comfortable in our hands. What a difference this has made!

Knifes that can NOT cut a straight line.

I made a mistake discarding my previous Henckels Knife set. Confiding that this set would be as amazing as my previous one. This set has truly disappointed me. I am totally frustrated with it. NONE of these knives cut straight. I may wind up tossing or giving them away. What a waste of money. However, the Knife set looks beautiful, Knives are sturdy, solid and extremely sharp and well made. However, THEY JUST DON'T CUT STRAIGHT! Hasn't anyone run into this issue ????
