Welsey II Insulated Waterproof Trench Coat

I bought 3 raincoats hoping I would like one, and this is the one I kept. It fit the best of all three, liked the length and style. I have worn it a few times already and just received it last week. It does run a tad big, I was able to wear a lightweight jacket under it, but because of the belt it can be more fitted.

It's surprisingly difficult to find a truly waterproof proper rain coat in the US. Most rain coats, both affordable and very high end tend to be only water resistant which defeats the whole point of having a rain coat, IMO. I've finally found this coat by HH and also got one for my husband from the same brand so we can truly enjoy walks in the rain and travel despite of season/weather. This coat is amazing for spring/fall/warm winter days because it's insulated, and with a nice thin sweater worn under it, you can be comfortable in the high 30s/low 40s up to probably about 50s before you might get too warm. You can also always wear it over a thinner top and be ok around mid to upper 50s. Great for travel to Europe off season. A built in hidden hood is easy to take out without having to remove the coat. Pockets are generous and deep and secure. The only one flaw for me is that the sleeves are very, very long on me and I don't have short arms and actually prefer longer sleeves over shorter ones. But on this coat, sleeves go down to almost my finger tips. I'm considering taking it to a tailor to get them shortened. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend this coat.

I left off a star because I found it narrow in the hips which made me have to size up and accept that it would be bit large on me overall. But a nice jacket. I so appreciate the design mistakes it did not have for instance: bold declarations about the brand. I noticed in earlier jackets or other styles a bolder HH was stitched in white on the sleeve. If this jacket had that I'd probably have rejected it.
