Hawley Half-Zip Sweatshirt

I admittedly have only owned this for a couple days, but it's already a lifelong favorite -- I'm even thinking of buying a backup or two. The softness and perfect weight of the fabric cannot be overstated, I literally gasped when I first touched it. As others have stated, the cut is also very flattering. I'm 5'5" and it sits right at my hip, but with enough room to allow the midsection to flounce out a bit, obscuring your midsection. I got the ivory marl color with the gold zipper, and it's BEAUTIFUL. The gold accent elevates the piece to make it look high quality and dressed up -- I just wish they'd put the gold zipper on the other colors, because I want the mushroom color but am too in love with the gold. So, don't hesitate, just pull the trigger. You won't be disappointed.

This is my first experience with the Varley brand and agree with the comments about the material being extremely soft and luxurious. Being a size 6/8 I usually wear a Sm or Med., depending on the cut. After reading all of the reviews, I figured I’d be fine ordering a Sm in various multiple style Varley tops, well I should’ve gone down to an XS. I find it ridiculous how these brands size their items. I’m tired of ordering multiple sizes of one item to ensure the sizing is right. Unfortunately, I bought everything during a promo period (10 points p/ $1) and will lose out by exchanging for a smaller size. Out of all the Varley items I’ve tried, this top is probably one of the most flattering as it appears to be not as boxy. One reviewer mentioned she didn’t like the gold zipper and thought it looked cheap and I tend to agree. Think I’ll try the XS and then determine if it’s a keeper.
