What it is: A high-caliber hair-styling clay that provides supreme holding power with a semi-matte finish.

What it does: Claymation contains all-natural ingredients, which means its actually good for your hair. The 100% water-soluble formula provides powerful, all-day nourishment from roots to ends.

How to use: Start with a pea-sized amount and spread it evenly across one of your palms. Then vigorously rub your hands together to activate and warm the product. Once the clay is smooth, aggressively push and stroke your fingers through dry hair until your get the relaxed, textured hairstyle you desire. Apply more product as needed.

Great stuff

I’ve been using Claymation since Hanz De Fuko launched this product a few years ago. Glad to see it now at Nordstrom. The reason I like this product is that it is a cross between a mat and a shine. If you apply to your hair when wet it tends to be more shiny, but if dry it works like a mat finish. It’s quite versatile and does not flake. You only need a little bit of product and it lasts quite a while for me with about 1 1/2 in hair.

Great Product - BAD BATCH

I have used this product for over 10 years and love it. I've ordered it several times here with no problem. My last purchase was in January, 2024 and it's unusable. It's sticky and extremely gritty. It leaves chunks of visible grit in hair. This was a bad batch and pretty disappointed.

Too bad, disappointed

When this brand shines, it really it shines.test My first tub was amazing: creamy, pliable and effortless. The second tub was cruddy, grimy and tended to ball up in chunks visible in the hair. Don’t believe me? Check other sites. This brand has some serious problems with brand consistency. I wouldn’t buy from this company until they can rectify their production issues.

Old Reliable

Ever since Baxter changed their Clay Pomade formula, the options for good clays keep declining. Luckily this stuff is still around and just as good as always. Been using this for years and it's an eternal go-to. Good medium-firm hold depending on the amount used, nice matte finish, great texture, works on any hair length and for tons of different styles. Just one of those products that I can always count on whenever I don't know what to use. It's definitely a little bit expensive these days, especially when there are lots of comparable products like Blumaan and Forte, but in my opinion this stuff is still worth it, it's still great.
