Halfeti Eau de Parfum

Anyone remember Sunday rituals of polishing school shoes for the week? The black or brown shoe polish in the tin? It had a distinct smell that you'd recognize anywhere..That's what this smelled like to me. I was so repulsed by it I had to pack it up and return it. Normally, fragrances that don't sit well with me get gifted as I usually can figure out who in my circle would love the scent. Thinking of gifting this felt like an insult. It had many of the scent profiles I gravitate towards so I can't fathom how it ended up smelling like shoe polish. YUCK! I will say this...this sucker last on the skin, clothes, the room, the air like it has a immortality gene.

I have never used this fragrance before so I decided to purchase the miniature collection to try. All of them are amazing. So far Halfeti is my favorite!

I have been eyeing Penhaligon’s’s fragrances for quite a while now. By looking at the notes I decided to try Halfeti from the selection that Nordstrom offers online. The day I received Halfeti I was already wearing a boozy, sweet and spicy fragrance (Clandestine Clara, also from Penhaligons). Halfeti was almost too much for me in comparison to what my nose was already intoxicated with. But I decided to give Halfeti another try a few days later on it’s own. I’m so glad I did!!! Halfeti is absolutely gorgeous! It starts off on my skin with a spicy/tart opening, a bit reminiscent of Jo Malones Pomegranate Nior. Then turns to a spice with nutmeg/cardamom and woody notes and a touch of sweetness/floral (although I do not detect Rose on my skin) and a touch of leather. At the end a vanilla/tonka/sandlewood softly takes over leaving me so content. I can see myself wearing this fragrance year round as it doesn’t have a heavy scent on my skin. I actually reapplied halfway through the day so I could re experience the journey again, although the fragrance had not worn off. It is truly a beautiful fragrance and I’m so glad I gave it a second opportunity to experience it on its own! I feel like I’m in Turkey in a trade market s we it’s everything it has to offer. Also, both of my teenage daughters told me that I smelled amazing! I always have on a fragrance and they rarely comment, so that was an extra plus for me!

The genius who added cumin to this fragrance, ruined it. Cumin smells like body odor.
