Double Breasted Bouclé Cutaway Coat

I started watching the new Netflix Gilmore Girls episodes and saw Lorelai wearing this coat. I HAD to have it. A quick Google search and found it within minutes. I ordered my size based on the size chart and was nervous because a lot of times they are off. I wear a size 38C bra so it said I would need a large. It took only 5 days to get to me which is phenomenally fast considering I ordered it on Black Friday! The fit is perfect! The color is gorgeous! Much prettier in person, if you watched the Gilmore Girls episode, first one, the coat is the first one Lorelai is wearing, that is a perfect representation of the color. It's much more pink than the stock photo on this website. The buttons are kind of boring. They're supposed to be gold, which I hate, but they are more of a silver tone. The coat that Lorelai wore, the people in charge of costumes changed the buttons on hers to a pink style, I might do that as well since I don't love them. The zippers are also gold but very light, not as silvery as the buttons but tolerable. I despise typical gold hardware so this is a lot prettier since I had no choice. The inner liner is a gorgeous flower print, and it's silky and cool! The pockets are kind of iffy since there are zippers on them. You either risk scrapes on your hands or snagging your gloves. I'm curious if I can't have them removed by a seamstress. I'll most likely just not use them. The coat itself is warm but not super heavy. I have a couple wool pea coats and they are quite heavy. This is more of a medium weight to me. It's not light but it's not overly heavy either, only 49% wool. I saw a few complaints about the butt section, it poofs out. I have a very small butt so it looks pretty and feminine instead of a straight style. If you have a larger derrière it might not look so great, as some people were complaining, but on me I think it just looks nice and makes my tiny butt look a little bigger! My only complaint really is that it's kind of scratchy, it is wool after all. The only irritating part is around the neck which can easily be remedied by a pretty scarf, even a thin cashmere one would look gorgeous and keep your neck from being itchy. For the price I paid this cost is worth it. I could have saved a lot more by buying a coat of similar style and material elsewhere BUT I now own a piece of history in connection with my favorite character of my favorite show. ❤️
