Maxi Lash Volumizing & Curling Mascara

Pros: When I received a free sample I immediately loved it and ordered a tube myself! It goes on without clumps and totally thickens my lashes. It's dark, gorgeous and non smudging. The look is fantastic!!! I've had so many compliments on my eyes the past month and all I did was switch to this mascara. Here's the con: its $10 more than Mac False Lashes (which I've worn for years & liked) so I expected it to last at least as long. Within a month, the tube of Guerlain Maxi lash was drying out, glumpy and clumpy and no longer a joy to put on. FYI, I treated the tube of Guerlain the same way I treat my Mac, so this was disappointing. So, it gets 3 stars because of its short useability & high price point. I'm going back to False Lash.

I actually ordered this because I used up my last tube of this stuff. I am a bit of a mascara snob and while I've tried probably a hundred different kinds and brands, there are only three at this time that I use on a regular basis. This is one of them. What I like about it is that it gives incredible length that normally can only be obtained with falsies. The lashes remain soft once it's on, which i guess this product has a conditioner built into it so yay! No clumps or under-eye darkening and stays on for up to two days if u forget to take it off. Woops.

The first day I wore this mascara I thought it is perfect. It had volume and curl and did not give me allergic reactions The second day I noticed by the afternoon there was no curl . My lashes had shrunk ! . There was also black dust underneath and on the sides of my eyes. This is a pricey mascara that promises volume & curl but really does not deliver. If Guerlain ever changes the formula I would try it again..

I first tried this at a Guerlain makeup event and knew that I had found my new best mascara. It builds volume and length that looks natural and not absurd and it doesn't flake or migrate as the day wears on. It also gently curls and lifts the lashes without necessarily having to curl them first. One coat top and bottom and I have "maxi lashes" that last all day. It does all of this without the lashes feeling hard or like bristles and, at the end of the day, it removes easily with any standard eye makeup remover or good cleansing oil. I also love the brush which is full and bushy without being super-sized like so many of the ones typically found in volume mascaras. The size of the brush lets me get my lower lashes and the tiny ones in the inner and outer corners without smudging mascara on my lids. Pricey, yes, but if you stock up during Nordies "mascara madness" (three for the price of two), that makes the price more reasonable.

I have tried about 500 mascaras. My shifts are long at 12 hours and I also go outside midday and walk rain or shine. I look primarily for length over volume and do curl my lashes daily. This is my new holy grail- I was using Bobbi brown smoky eye, and Armani eyes to kill. I like both of those but this knocks them out of the park. It lengthens and makes them look like fake lashes- WITHOUT looking cakey or overdone. It is buildable and the wand allows for a couple coats without causing spidery lashes. No smudging all day. Perfect till the end. I normally don’t look for this brand but now this will be my mascara for life!
