La Petite Robe Noire Nail Color

I am a nail polish junkie, and have many polishes from Guerlain, YSL, Chanel and Dior. I was excited to try the new line of polishes from Guerlain. The color Black Perfecto looks black in the bottle, which is not what I expected from the photo on Nordstrom's website. However, when held to the light, you can see the color is more like that in the photo. I returned the polish because it is very similar to another color they made a couple of years ago (Sulfurous). I might still have kept it, but I realized that the amount in the bottles has been shrinking over the past few years. I am attaching a photo of three bottles from 2012, 2015 and this new line. The amount has shrunk from 11.5 ml to 10 ml, and now to 8.8 ml; that is a significant amount, yet the price has not gone down. So, Guerlain still makes beautiful products, but this consumer wants to let them know that I am not pleased with the shrinkage. I can buy full size bottles of beautiful polish from many other companies (notably YSL: my favorite).

This is a cameleon shade. It looks black on contact, but when held to the light shows it's deep dark burgundy glint. Goes on well, light coats. The coverage could be a little thicker; I had to use 3 coats to get a well sated effect. IMO the D&G polish is a better value for what you get . The Guerlain packaging is very girly and French looking (as you'd expect), but you're not getting much product for the high price. It removes very easily, which is nice, but also telling on the quality of the polish after three coats.

I use the Guerlain terracotta line faithfully, this is the first time I have purchased their nail polish. When I opened the box I was disappointed. The beautiful top is plastic and fell off immediately. I believe it is designed to come off because when I placed it back on and tried to open the bottle, the top just spins, no grip. So, I had to remove it to grab the short black top underneath. Turning the black top was a little hard to grip because it is on the smaller side, but I got it. The applicator brush is on the shorter side as well, and like the previous reviewer mentioned, this whole thing feels like a child's nail polish bottle...until I put it on. Once I painted my nails, I was impressed. The color went on solid, didn't need a second coat. It dried quickly and very shiny. I purchased the Firebow and I like the color. It is a little deeper than it shows on my monitor, more of an orange-ish red. I was hoping it was more neon coral, but it isn't. Although I do like the color anyway. I have only had it on for two days, but it still looks fantastic. I expected quality nail polish from Guerlain, and the polish is better than I expected. The bottle is super cute but the top is plastic that will probably soon be lost since it falls off easily. I think the price is on the high side and feel they could probably lower the cost to us if they just remove the plastic top. I will purchase it again for the quality nail polish.

I bought the nail polish Black Perfect and I felt in love with it ! The shade is beautiful, I only applied one layer and the it did not move at all !! It is very difficult to find a formula that stays long but this one is amazing! The plastic top is removable (as Dior nailpolishes) - which makes the application much more easier and keeps the bottle clean.

I read this line was designed for a younger age group. Being older, and a Guerlain user, I gave this polish a try. The bottle was cheesy cheap with a plastic top that immediately fell off. Brush/application like before which I like. Color girlish with sparkles...fruity smell is ok and it last for a few days. Wore well. I am fine with a youthful line, just wish Guerlain had kept the sophisticated line too. Returning it.

I bought this in "Black Perfecto" and really looked forward to the dark burgundy shimmer, however, when you apply it, it looks black. Even in the sunlight--black. I was super disappointed and I should have returned it. I think the polish itself is good, but haven't found other colors I like.
