What it is: A woody eau de parfum with a scent mixed around the nose of precious and mysterious oud.
Fragrance story: Inspired by the science of alchemy, Alessandro Michele reimagines the path of transformation from lead into gold with the art of fragrance. Symbolic of eternity, oud is highly prized for its singular, aphrodisiac and sensual aroma. Laying in the dried patchouli leaves on the ground, the snake hides in the forest. Leather-like scales slowly draw traces on the snake's patch, tinted with saffron shades. The snake glides through oud wood rays. Intensive and deep, the scent is as hypnotizing as the sound of the snake's voice.

My cat ran out of the room after one spray.
The smell is definitely layered. Once you first apply it is just a musky plastic, rubber, medicine cabinet smell. Sure, in several hours you will get a whiff of something fruity and clean; the fresh smell is not worth the nose pain. The whole Alchemist line was disappointing but to each their own

An acquired scent
I wanted to love this parfum, but sadly I did not. It reminded me of a bougie 95 year old walking the streets of paris. Leaving her scent everywhere she went. And while I aspire to be that, I'm not there yet!

Awful smell like a Doctor's office
This has an awful medicinal smell. It reminded me of a doctor's office! The price point is extremely high. I would not recommend. My husband and dog did not approve either. I received a sample bottle to test but didn't even finish the sample.

Musty and overpowering
I was sent this fragrance to review, and while I had high hopes this scent is very flat and boring. I kept waiting for this to develop, but it only got worse the longer I wore it. It was reminiscent of a an old blanket left in a damp cellar. It was not sexy, elegant or even remotely artistic.

Smells Like a Doctor's Office
This perfume straight up smells like a doctor's office. I thought this would have a nice scent from what I researched before I received this and it's pretty disappointing. If you want to smell like an exam room I suggest this but if you don't, I'd steer clear. I wanted to like this but the scent is just so odd.
