Grace Stand Collar Wool Coat (Nordstrom Exclusive)

I purchased the Grace coat in a size 4 petite, black, three years ago. It was pretty perfect in fit, I love the well tailored sleeve and shoulder, while still having a slight ease of space in the body for a winter sweater, never looking bulky. Three years ago, that coat was also on sale this time of year, and I can see from my Nordstrom account, I paid $600. The coat still looks great, and I will say a fair price after three years of wear, with many more to come. Fast forward to 2025, sure I thought, it's now $300 DOLLARS MORE, but maybe I should invest in the brown. What showed up in a dumpy plastic bag, on a plastic hanger... is a shapeless, pilled, pile of junk. I can't imagine what kind of work around/scam they use to call this "cashmere and wool"... it is garbage. Way too big in the body, no tailoring, buttons look terrible, but then again,I can believe in the year 2025, this is what $1200 gets you for a coat at NORDSTROM. Nordstrom seems to choose the most expensive items of the absolute lowest quality. I am sick of returning everything I order. I know this is far too long of a review, but good lord, I don't even blame the tariffs anymore, because I can't imagine once that nightmare is over, that these stores are all the sudden going to lower prices and bring back quality. The good news is I just put back $900 in my bank account and I am saving it. I I will stick with my one good OLD black coat. The next time I am in Paris, I will pick up a coat there. I am sick of the cheap fabrics, the terrible in store experiences, and the INSANE prices.

This wool coat is absolutely stunning! It’s 100% wool with acetate lining. It’s super soft to the touch and so luxurious! Acetate feels like silk and so smooth. Very easy to get the coat on and off as it’s lined all the way through. The side pockets are sewn almost all the way, so my only complaint is needing to find time with alterations onsite to have them remove the stitches since it has functional pockets. Many times they are sewn to prevent people from tearing while trying on. But honestly tons of other reasons are applicable here. I love that it has the option for pockets. The length is perfect for me. I’m 5’3 and it doesn’t go past my knees. I didn’t want my coat super long. It has a back vent which was a must for me as I like to not feel restricted when walking. You can easily layer with a bulky sweater but it’s not a bad idea to size down as it does not fit super tight. The sleeves are perfect too! I could have went with a 4 but my normal size is 6. (36c)I did keep the 6 but a 4 may have been just a tad better. It just depends on you and the clothes you wish to wear underneath. I tried a size 0 and I was still able to button everything. (Just to give an idea) but size 0 would restrict my arms therefore it was way too small. (Never tried on petite) I’m thrilled with my purchase! I almost bought a Fendi wool coat last year for 7k and this honestly compares to the same quality without the high price tag since it’s more quiet luxury! But luxury none the less! :) It’s made in USA and they use imported Italian wool. This is my favorite brand for wool! I would have paid full price for it but am thankful Nordy had a sale going. You won’t be disappointed whatsoever! Lastly, it’s warm and cozy! But it’s not that heavy at all. I didn’t want a heavy coat.

The fabric was beautiful however the tailoring was poor and for the price I expected better.

Very elegant feel and design! Roomy enough for layers underneath but warm enough to wear evening dinner wear in cold weather.
