Gourmet 3" Spear Point - Rust Developing on “Stainless” Steel Knives
I bought two of these knives a couple of weeks ago and immediately noticed that the steel surface develops rust, even though they are supposed to be stainless steel. We only hand-wash the knives, and we also own a couple of smaller knives from the Classic Ikon line — never had any similar issues with those. The quality of the steel on these knives seems poor, and I’m very disappointed with WÜSTHOF.

I bought these as gifts.
I bought these as gifts. I do have one myself and use it daily. Love the thin blade to use for so many things. I bought them for my daughters because when they used mine they really liked them.

not a high quality knife
not a high quality knife but not very expensive either. It is a replacement for one just like it that corroded in one of the rivets and the blade. I hope things hold up better with this one. We have a much higher quality Wustof paring knife and it too has one of the three rivets completely corroded. The other two rivets are fine and the blade is not corroded.
We wash our knives by hand and never put in dishwasher. Not sure why the corrosion problems.
