This jacket is a good all around jacket.
I've owned half a dozen North Face jackets over the years and this is one of my favorites. I would categorize this jacket as one of the Best Buy's for a Gore-Tex jacket. You can do everything in this jacket, it will keep you dry in a pouring rain. It looks great around town or on a trail. You can zip in a liner for colder weather. I love the roomy chest pockets on it and the two internal pockets. The chest pockets are high and deep enough to not get in the way of a hip belt for a pack. I think this would be a great travel jacket. It not the lightest Gore-Tex but it has the comfortable lining where you need it the most, the sleeves and body. The hood is 2L. Well designed and functional.

I would not recommend buying items from North Face online.
Do not recommend purchasing items from North Face. Customer support is not helpful and just advises to dispute transaction with your bank just to have it denied from North Face since they state "the package is marked as delivered, so there is nothing else we can do" even though the delivery never arrived to you.

Great jacket that i've been eyeing for a while. Saw this version with the bold "gore-tex" embroidery and got one of the last ones left. The iconic Mountain Jacket is a must for every wardrobe. Great for the streets or the mountains.

Fit well, but materials feel cheap
The shell is too soft compared to other gore-tex shell jacket, which I don't like.
