Good Petite Flare Jeans

I purchased these pants in April for a trip in June. I wore them about 4 times, washed them twice and on the last wear the pants split down the middle of the seat while I was out at a concert. I have never had a pair of pants rip like this and the size of the tear (5 inches long, about 3 inches wide) was due to the seams holding and the cheap fabric pulling apart from it. I would not buy from this brand again, the fit was fine (true to size, some stretch) but the quality is abysmal. Even more disappointing - Nordstrom tried to claim that this was part of 'normal wear and tear' since I had the pants for 3 months. This is an absurd policy and representative of the declining quality of the products they carry. A manager had to make an exception to issue a refund; the pants were in otherwise perfect condition, with the exception of the tag that faded after the first wash. Glad I was able to get my money back but disappointed that it was even an argument in the first place.

I am right on the petite border at 5’4. 5”. The length of these is just right for sneakers. Although people report they are “true to size”, I agree IF you go by your usual size and NOT by the size chart. By the size chart I was a solid size 4, but I couldn't come close to buttoning those and I measured the waist band of the jeans - 27”. They don’t come all the way to my waist and with a 27” waist I really needed closer to 29” for these to fit. I was afraid I needed to go up 2 sizes, but I got the 6 and they are stretchy so they fit perfectly. I tried the 8 and they were too big. I have larger than average thighs and these were snug on the thighs, but not terrible. The material is super soft. New favorites!
