Giorgio Armani 'Eyes to Kill' Intense Silk Eyeshadow

Let me reveal my age first off, over 70. Eyelids crepey and eyelids folded and droopy. Now I'm not saying that I am special or that I look bad, just that I am a woman of a certain age who has all her life worn eye makeup nearly every day. Special problems begin to crop up when one ages, especially problems with sensitivity as well as the changing landscape of the eyes. I can assure you that this eyeshadow is the best I have ever used in all my years of making up. I have 2 pots of it, #06 Khaki Pulse and #08 Champagne. The first reads on the lids as a subtle gold; the second reads as a subtle silver. No glitter in this Armani product, but there is a sheen. The feel of the formula is sheer and layered. So easy to apply! One's finger in one swipe does the trick. For this Christmas I bought my daughter #06, the subtle gold. She will be thrilled, as I already sent her #08, the silver and she says it's her everyday eye makeup for work. That's how sheer and how wearable this product is, and how it can work for young women as well as for those of a 'certain age'. One last bit of praise for Armani's "Eyes to Kill"—it does not irritate my eyes, and my eyes have become incredibly sensitive to beauty products of all kinds.

This is a revolutionary product. Goes on easier than any powder or creme shadow I've ever used, blends beautifully and easily, is comfortable, and lasts until you take it off. One tap on my brush is enough to cover my entire eye. I have 4 colors: 2 (lust red - which is actually more of a deep charcoal with very subtle red highlights and the most matte of my colors), 3 (Purpura, Nordstrom does not sell this color - purple with slight gold shimmer), 6 (Khaki Pulse, khaki with gold highlights, high shimmer, looks great with my hazel eyes), and 15 (Copper/Black Grey - beautiful copper with subtle black highlights, high shimmer, this is my favorite). I have used Makeup Forever's Aqua waterproof creme eyeshadows and considered that product the best waterproof shadow on the market until trying Armani's Eyes To Kill Intense Silk. The downside: expensive; but as I mentioned above, just takes a little product to cover your entire eyelid; and some of the product does fall onto my nose and cheekbone with application, but I use a light dusting of face powder on this area before applying and the eyeshadow brushes off). This is a fairly high shimmer product (hence the name "Intense") but I wear these colors to work in a fairly conservative office environment. I hope Armani comes out with more colors, this is an incredible product.

I have been using the Armani eye tint shadow for about two years and am very pleased with it. After reading one of the reviews by a 70 year old of Eyes to Kill Intense shadow, I decided to try it. Your reviewer was correct! This shadow is a beautiful color, goes on easily, gives the eyes a certain "pop" without being too much and is kind to older eyes. I am very pleased with both the khaki pulse and champagne colors and have since ordered others. It stays on the eye without creasing all day. Highly recommend.

I've used #26 Carat Gold as both as a single shadow, and with other colors for a more intense smoky eye. It's great both ways and I always get a ton of compliments. My favorite thing about this line of shadows is that you get a nice shimmer effect without a lot of "glitter." And there are never any residual glitter bits floating down onto my face - another big plus over other shadows. It's just a very pretty finish without being over the top.

I bought both the silver and the copper. Although pretty in the jar, when applied, the colors looked a bit murky and lacked depth. In short, they looked like cheap pigments. I tried both shades on different occasions with the same poor result. I don't know how long they last because about 15-20 minutes after application, my eyelids began to itch and I had to remove them. Both shadows were returned to Nordstrom where the Armani SA was very gracious about taking them back. Even if I had not had an allergic reaction, I would have still returned them because of the dull colors. I love Armani, but not these new shadows.

I live in Florida and spend a lot of time outdoors. I have spent may years finding sweat-proof, run-proof, yet ultimately sensitive skin friendly makeup. This eye shadow goes on creamy, blends easily, but once it dries it is there all day - and never, ever irritates my sensitive eyes. The only complaint I have is the limited and all metallic color range - what I wouldn't give for a nice chocolate brown Mr. Armani! This is my 3rd purchase of Khaki Pulse, which shows up as a soft metallic mossy green on my fair (redhead) skin. A keeper!
