Just received "Acqua di Gio - Profumo as a Birthday gift. I ADORE it! One of the most seductively masculine scent's I own! The Frankincense, patchouli base notes are intoxicating.

What it is: An adventurous men's fragrance pairing marine accords with fresh bergamot and patchouli.
Fragrance story: This cologne is inspired by volcanic rock and deep ocean waters, evoking the depth and intensity of the Mediterranean sea with an enticing blend of fragrance oils. The aromatic fresh bergamot and marine accords are paired together for an aquatic, clean fragrance upon application. As the fresh perfume marries with the skin, the captivating radiance of incense and patchouli create seductive depth.

How to use: Fragrance is intensified by the warmth of your own body. Apply this scent to the creases of your knees and elbows for a longer-lasting, stronger scent. After applying the fragrance, avoid rubbing or dabbing your skin. This breaks down the fragrance, causing it to wear off more quickly. If you prefer placing fragrance on your wrists, be sure to reapply after frequent hand-washing as this tends to rinse off the scent. Replace your scent after 12 months. Expired fragrances of more than a year old lose the integrity of the original scent.

Disappointed
Now using Bleu de Channel eau de Parfum. But wanted something different - woody parfum. Read a lot positive reviews about Profumo from Armani. Bought online 4.2 oz Profumo Parfum. Before opened box went to local Sephora and sprayed tester on paper. WOW! Felt in love immediately... Came home , opened box, sprayed.... and was truly amazed, - almost totally different smell. How it can be? And more- it doesn't last more then 2-3 hours. From Sephora taster smells saturated. From online - flat. Looks like someone filled bottle with eau de toilette razer then to fill with parfum!
Now about Bleu de Chanel. It's only eau de Parfum but smell long lasting Parmum.
Armani- can you explain, please, how it can be that Profumo Parmum has so little projection and longevity? Disappointed

Smells fantastic
For years my husband has worn this in the clear bottle but when he tried a sample of the black, he really liked it. I bought this as an anniversary gift for him and he loves it. Smells awesome and has good staying power, doesn't wear off too easily.

Believer
I have been wearing Aqua Di Gio (Pour Homme) for the past eight years. I saw the black version (Profumo) and asked what the difference was. When my Pour Homme ran out, I decided to give this a try.
I wore the new fragrance to work and noticed how much stronger it was when I sat at my desk. I was almost embarrassed to go into my patients room. Later in the day, my dietitian mentioned how nice the office smelled.
I was still about to go return the Profumo, and decided I would give it a week. It has now been almost three weeks. I don't think I will go back to Pour Homme.
This really is a nicer version. It is rich and more bold.
Give it a try, I'm sure you will become a believer also.

New and Improved
A more refined version of the original. This makes me imagine of swimming in the Mediterranean Sea and then dining somewhere on the Amalfi coast. It smells like aquatic luxury.
