Gender Inclusive Mestari Sneaker

I have been wanting these shoes for months and was so excited to see that Nordstrom had them on sale. They were way too big. I wear a US women’s size 6, and the sizing for this particular shoe did not clarify whether ‘6’ meant women’s or men’s. The shoes are listed as gender inclusive, and on all other store sites I’ve seen the sizes listed as M/W. Since I had filtered for Women in Nordstrom’s site, I assumed the ‘6’ was referring to Women’s size 6. I was wrong. The tongue in the shoe fits a labeled “US 6” and “EU 39”. I would normally wear a 36 in EU shoe sizes, so it made sense as to why the shoe was so big on me even though it was a size 6. Clearly not a US women’s 6. I notice now that some (if not all) of the other Karhu sneakers listed here on Nordstrom’s site clarify the M/W size. Nordstrom must have just inadvertently missed correcting this particular shoe. The shoe is also quite wide, but it’s hard to tell if they would still be so wide looking across the top and sides if they weren’t two sizes too big.

I was so excited when these got in the mail until I try them on, it’s like a size larger than what I would normally wear. These are truly not true to size for women! So upset that I have to return these.

I have two other pairs of these shoe in a men's 6, So I ordered my size men's 6 which is a women's 7.5. For some reason they keep sending me a men's 7.5 which is to big I double checked my other shoes and they say 6. I am not sure why this keeps happening. I ordered the cameo rose/white I am getting the right color combo but the wrong size. The men's 7.5 is a women's 9 which I can't wear. Now I have two pairs to send back.

The reviews said these run wide, but they run big too! I am normally between 8.5 and 9. I like 9 because they are roomy. These are a whole size too big and very wide. I will try sizing down I think. Look and feel like a well made shoe!
