G5 Infant Car Seat Base

Once you go Orbit Baby, I am not sure you will want to go back. We love all our Orbit baby items. The stroller, bassinet, and car seat. I will be loading our child into our car and people will watch us, and have said “wow that was quick” - it truly is easy. it’s beautiful, sleek, 360 capabilities is amazing. I asked ChatGP to find me a stroller/car seat system with all the wants/desires i envisioned and the only company to met those requirements was Orbit Baby! All too lux brands were evaluated in comparison, Orbit was the triumph. HOWEVER, we are really looking forward to the day that the car seat does not require a hand on both sides to unlock and remove, it makes for an awkward moment when transitioning from side locks to top handle to continue carrying the child. Transition to stoller is easy but transition to a 1 hand carry of the top handle is a slight challenge BUT worth it because these travel systems are fantastic. We purchased an extra base for our parents car!

I've really enjoyed using the Orbit Baby stroller, car seat, and base. Compared to other brands, this system feels incredibly intuitive, and the way the car seat latches into the base provides a level of security that stands out from anything I’ve used before. The engineering behind it is top-notch, and I highly recommend their products. One potential refinement could be replacing the strap-based tightening mechanism with a crank system, similar to the front tensioning knob, for an even smoother and more precise installation.

First, finding instructions to install this thing were difficult. They don’t come with the car seat, and the video wouldn’t play. Then once I finally got a video to work, it was simple enough…BUT while installing I saw in the fine print on the base that the LATCH fasteners are not for use when rear facing. The video makes no mention of this, so it could have been dangerous. This also should be included with the toddler car seat, or at least some bundle offered.
