Great dress, runs small

Normally a size 8-10, this was only available in a 14 so I ordered and planned to use some of my alterations credits. SHOCK... it almost fit! I don't care about the number, so was happy to not need a lot of alterations. I asked for the length to be raised, we measured it, and I asked for the shoulders to be lifted. Picked it up and flew (the next day) to son's wedding. Photo i of Son and other son, who was his brother's Best Man. Good fun... but I should have tried on the finished dress in the alterations room! Shoulders had not been pulled up, making the V far too deep and leaving me with loose shoulders, and the length was still too long... I had to hold it up all afternoon/evening. Still a great dress and a wonderful event. I will wear again, but not before I get alterations!

awful@dress

I'm shocked at the cheap fabric and how poorly this dress is made. I wanted it for a classic look at my sons wedding. I wouldn't wear this to a dog park.

Don't get excited

I'm so sorry to write a less than kind review on this. The photos are amazing, but real life was just a ginormous let down. I felt sizing was slightly snug but fine. The length was not long enough for me. I am 5'7 and the dress just touched the floor. Heels would not work. Additionally, the quality was horrendous. Paper thin with no real structure. The pockets were cut in a way that made them pouf out. I had to fold them to the back to get them to lay better. The skirt had no pouf. I really really wanted this to be the gown, as I planned to cut it short after my event. This dress is going back.

Perfect black gown

I'm 5"8 150 lbs usually wear an 8-10...other reviews said to order up so I ordered a 12. Too big! Sent it back for a 10. Dress is beautiful, fabric is light, pockets are awesome! Simple but perfect for black tie events.

Happy with this purchase - true to size

Lovely dress. The fabric looks like raw silk (but for much less than actual raw silk would cost.) I found the fabric and construction to be good quality. The fit was true to size. I ordered one size up based on previous reviews, but it was too large. I returned it and ordered my normal size and it fit perfectly. I'm 5'8'', 140 lbs and a size 6 was perfect. The neckline is plunging, but a normal low-cut bra will work.

Not a right fit...

Ordered a size 14, normally wear a 12 but read reviews and went up a size. I'm a 40B in cup size and also have a broader back. Beautiful dress, but could not get the zipper past my mid back. Beautiful material, ran a little long, but would be a great dress for someone with a smaller frame. This dress came before the scheduled delivery date, and was packaged just right without wrinkles. Can return to a local store, and would buy from this site again!
