Idol Underwire Balconette Bra

I've been ordering this bra in nude and black for 3 years, and I've noticed a decline in quality -- the stitching isn't as neat, the clasps pull weirdly are weaker (see photos), the straps slip down easier. The stitching and clasp left a scratch on my back. I would gladly pay a bit more for quality, especially when it's difficult to find good bras in large sizes.

At 67, I just thought I had to live with that "matronly" look. I always wore good bras--Wacoal, Chantrelle, etc. But then I tried on the Freya Idol Balconette. It took 10 years off my profile! Seems to shift my 38DDDs in ways that make me look less dowdy. I think it may push the side tissue a little more forward. I know that sounds like some sort of 1950's bullet bra effect, but it's more subtle than that. I actually did by one in every color.

bra runs one cup size big. Freya bras all run bigger in the band than normal so I sized down from my regular band. I found the area where it squeaks is from the back where the O-ring rubs against the straps. I did not experience a lack of support. I think other users may experience a lack in support because Freya bras run bigger in the band. Sizing down from your normal band size should work. Also, this bra gives a more rounded and wide look in your breast. The bottom of the cup seems shallow because I cannot fill it up. The Fantasie Rebecca does that too but I kind of like this bra better than the Fantasie Rebecca because the Rebecca migrates downward on me. This bra stays in place which i like. The cups are firm moulding rather than spacer foam. The underwire is wider too.

I wanted to love this bra so much. The coffee roast color was everything to me. Unfortunately the feel of the bra is so uncomfortable for me. It's really stiff and the straps will make you want to go out and kick a tree. Like seriously the most frustrating thing. They are too tight, so you tighten...then they are too loose. Plus they DIG into your shoulders. I am getting upset just thinking about it. The color is what keeps me from tossing this bra out a window, but every time I think, "it's not really that bad" and try to wear it again...it really is THAT bad. I love Freya but this one didn't work for me.

I love Freya bras! I've tried other bra brands and they just don't fit as well as Freya does. One of the things I love about the Freya brand is they are consistent in their sizing no matter the style of bra you purchase from them. Right now I have 7 different styles of Freya bras (and counting!). I bought this bra in the Nude and the Freya Fancies Full Figure Balconette bra in Petal to have as my go-to bras for wearing under t-shirts and other items where I required smooth and sleek coverage. This bra has really pretty design details like the flat bows at the bottom of the front cup straps and in the center between the cups. Plus, there is the appearance of top stitching on the straps themselves though it's printed on. Still though, pretty! I love a pretty bra strap, especially if there is a chance it might be seen under something I'm wearing. Also, these bras lift and shape so nicely! I think another reviewer commented on how they made her [older] breasts look amazing and it's really true. This bra gives great lift and a youthful shape! (Pssst, so does the Freya Fancies Full Figure Balconette, same cup material!) I can't recommend Freya bras enough. If you're not sure of your size, get fitted in Freya by a bra specialist at Nordstrom and then you order online without worry because of their consistency in sizing.
