What it is: A warm and spicy fragrance created by the legendary perfumer Dominique Ropion.
Fragrance story: The beating heart of this fragrance is made of two precious varieties of rose—rose essence from Bulgaria and rose absolute from Turkey. The rose notes are lifted by apple, pink pepper and clove, and bound to a sensuous base of patchouli, cypriol and labdanum. What is created is an accord as unbreakable and invisible as a vow.
Style: Warm, spicy.

Promise: My New Favorite Aroma
The aroma is serious, status, it is like a promise to yourself to be confident in the future and not to be afraid of anything. I am very glad that I bought it in quarantine and wear it every day. A dark Gothic rose similar to the aroma of a portrait of a lady, rosemary, a fresh green apple, soft wet patchouli, a mystical and relaxing labdanum, cypriol. The fragrance is revealed mysteriously beautifully every day and gives a lot of impressions.

Definitely a male cologne- not a perfume
Wish I had paid attention to the other reviews. I love Frederic Malle’s perfumes (Une Rose is my absolute favorite) and got this one thinking it would be a nice change. Not at all. Had to return the next day because I smelled like one of the guys from the Night at the Roxbury movie. Excellent men’s cologne, but not for the lady folk.

The best one since Portrait of a Lady
I’ve been in a committed relationship with Portrait of a Lady since 2014, feeling I have found a scent that I can retire with. Went to Nordie to buy another bottle (while having a full one at home) in case they discontinue (crazy :)), which is when a sales person recommended I try this new fragrance. Didn’t like the smell at first, thought it was too strong ... out of politeness, asked that he sprays the card and I’ll ‘think about it’. Put the card in my purse ... and could not rip my nose off it that night. The scent is captivating!!! It is not what you smell at first; it reveals itself slowly and blossoms into the most incredible, sultry fragrance that will make you go wild. Highly, strongly recommend!

It's a Promise
Nothing but quality from Fredric Malle. This is a unique scent. I don't get much of the rose. But the apple stays here for the length of the fragrance. Deep, mysterious, amazing. Thank you Nordstrom for this offering from Fredric Malle. Please bring The Moon here also

This perfume is unique, it has a beast performance and worth every, this is a mans perfume, I don't know why it is listed for women, it does have some eep traits of Portrait of a lady in it. it is good.

Disappointing gift
I am a huuuge fan of Dominique Ropion— I adore even his early, primal stuff like Kenzo Jungle L‘’elephant. I love Portrait of a Lady, which SOUNDS sorta similar, and is also his. This was a gift from someone who thought they would hit the spot with this stuff—it has a lot of the notes I love—and I don’t like it! Too much rosemary, is a lot of the problem. It smells like hints of my favorite notes, mixed with bug spray.Sorry. A total disappointment.
