Carnal Flower Eau de Parfum

I used to ADORE this perfume; it was the most beautiful fragrance I'd ever encountered. I started wearing it 12 years ago. Sadly, it has been reformulated since Estee Lauder bought Frederic Malle in 2015, and is a shadow of its former self. There used to be so much true, natural tuberose in this scent; it smelled expensive and lush. It was a work of art. The difference in the reformulation is noticeable and disappointing: there's way more of a too-masculine musky note and way fewer flowers. Carnal Flower used to be worth the price, but now it's nothing special. I'm sadly returning the bottle I just bought.

I'd read so much on this fragrance and i'm happy to report that everyone was right! It's a warm and divise and luxurious floral scent. I am no expert on fragrances, so I cannot speak on top notes and base notes, but many perfumistas do and a quick search will give you more than you can handle. Carnal Flower is very sweet on initial smell, think tuberose, roses, gardenias and then it melts into something more silky, sexy and mature, but still decadently sweet. People will be delighted by your scent from about 2-3 feet away. For me, it doesn't leave a long trail but you will still have people racing to ask you about that insanely tempting, nicely naughty fragrance. Man or woman, even if you are not a "floral", I recommend you put a drop on your wrists and wear it for a day. It just may be love at first whiff, just as it was for me.

I bought a 3.4oz bottle of this masterpiece and although it was hard to drop that much money in a fragrance, it was worth it. Every time I wear it, it lifts my spirits, it makes me happy, I get tons of compliments... it is tuberose with a hint of coconut to give it that floral beachy vibe. It is so intoxicating! It's only been 6 months and I'm almost out :( time to fork out the money for a new bottle!
