Frais Rib Long Sleeve Polo Sweater Dress

Due to the prior negative review I was a little nervous ordering this dress but decided to take a chance as I am a Max Mara fan and it’s hard to beat the sale price. I tried it on when I picked it up without shapewear underneath and then again at home with a pair of Athleta yoga shorts (which I find more comfortable than actual shapewear). There’s no question that a little smoothing underneath helps the look of this somewhat clingy dress but it’s not like the dress is unwearable without it. It is a lightweight knit, but the material is not unduly thin, see-through or cheap-feeling. To me it’s actually a good thing it’s not too heavy because with the lighter weight it’s a two or three season piece not just a winter dress, and I also think it would be great for travel. To my eye, it has just the right amount of sparkle, and I think it will be a useful piece in my wardrobe.
